I wouldn't trust GAP as far as you can throw them.

I joined up 3 weeks ago then they sacked me today for no reason

I have emailed them to ask for an explanation.

You get 3 goes to pass the orientation then you can get the work.

The money isn't that great either. By the time you pay for parking and petrol, you get very little from it.

    Watch your backs with them:(

In fact I would advise people to avoid them.

The money may not be great but it's the 5th day of the month my 3rd day EVER MS'ing and I've booked well over my target for the month of jobs from them alone for me to complete over the coming 2 weeks.

Did you pass the test or were you already MS'ing for them and then got dropped?

I did 5 MS jobs today. My first bookie and it was OK. I've conquered my MS fear of bookies now!! And yes I'm a woman and the guys didn't bat an eyelid. If it helps go first thing in the morning when it says you can if you are worried about it being packed.

I see quite a few women in bookies, and tons of them go to the local casino on their own

Thank you, I feel upset today by being dropped.

I am glad you have found them OK.

I have never contacted them direct until today to ask why they sacked me. I am aware some companies don't like direct contact, tho' I don't know why.

I am not aware of doing anything to deserve this. I am mystified (excuse the pun) and wanted to warn and ask people if it has happened to them.

If I have done anything wrong, I would like to be told politely, so I can learn from it.

I say typical they ignore me because these companies think they don't have to be polite and reply to people.

I think Tractor Girl was polite and I've no idea why you think she's being nasty . TG contributes a lot to this thread, so perhaps you should listen to the advice of some of those who've been doing this a little longer, before you jump to conclusions!

From reading on here and all your comments i've takent he plunge and registered with GAPbuster. Do you know if they cover Newcastle and the north east? When I registered I had to state from a drop down menu where I lived - Durham was the closest but is certainly not my postal address. When I have gone in to find lists of jobs Newcastle/Tyne&Wear/North East isn't mentioned. Trust me to join the one company that doesn't cover where I am. Maybe I should have checked that first before completing all the forms :rotfl:
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

They DO cover Newcastle and the north east (I'm in Teesside). The thing is, you will only see those towns listed if there are jobs available there now. When the new jobs get listed you will see loads for your area - are you in Newcastle or further south???

Ah right thank you so much, I did think it odd. I'm not really Newcastle, West of Newcastle, but newcastle is the 'biggest' place I could think of to select hoping it covered the smaller places nearby. I'm Ryton/Prudhoe etc. way.

No, they cover the whole of the UK. Think of the most of the popular burger chain and if there's one near you, then you'll be ok. Also takeaway chicken and the biggest pizza chain in the UK - which I'm sure there'll be some of those near you.

That's a relief - not quite close enough that we will be competing for jobs!!! ;) :rotfl:

I find RE have a lot of jobs in the Newcastle area - my range covers from Newcastle down to Leeds (just cos I'm nosey and want to know what jobs there are)... there seem to be not that many in my area, millions in Leeds, and quite a few up Newcastle/Gateshead way, so might be worth applying to them, if you haven't already. And TNS as well.
