There is no need to be sarcastic

I think they were being harsh on me for dropping me for no reason.

I find your post very unhelpful and designed to be nasty

I hope you get the same courtesy when something goes wrong for you.

    There is always one:(

Not my idea of sarcasm - and not nasty ! Just a simple comment/joke. (And I have to say I agree - Gap is not nearly as bad as some people would have you believe).

I got my first BARE today and another for tomorrow. My legs hurt from all of this but I know it'll be worth it. Considering this is my 3rd day I feel like I've been doing it forever. Another 5 for tomorrow, I need to type these reports up and get some rest.

That's a relief - not quite close enough that we will be competing for jobs!!! ;) :rotfl:

I find RE have a lot of jobs in the Newcastle area - my range covers from Newcastle down to Leeds (just cos I'm nosey and want to know what jobs there are)... there seem to be not that many in my area, millions in Leeds, and quite a few up Newcastle/Gateshead way, so might be worth applying to them, if you haven't already. And TNS as well.

I may look at them later in the week, thanks, it took ages to apply for this one, I think I'll have to set aside some more time ;)
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

Anyone ever had a problem where the only requirement as proof was a business card and the store didn't have any? In this case they were waiting on their order to come in. I had to get the salesperson to write his details down. *sigh* I hope they don't flunk me for this. It was with Gap.

That should be OK. I've had that problem in phone shops for Gap, and usually get them to write their details on the front of a brochure, and Gap seem fine with that.

Thanks. I'm writing up my report now. Should I answer yes or no for a business card? I'm thinking yes, then to scan and submit the saleperson's poor attempt at a business card.

Yes, sounds like the right thing to do. Just put a comment at the end saying what happened too.

Most of them are open 7 days, unless you got one at a station in the city of London, otherwise can't think why one would be shut on a weekend

Actually quite a few of them in the businessy parts of London are 5 days a week -this one surprised me as it's West End rather than City but there you go. Silly part was the hours of opening were on the brief but I skimmed at speed as I was looking for several in the area. RE were really good-moved it (and the other one which IS open on Sundays) so I could do both on the same day. See like some people moan about Gap-others lay into RE -yet this is the second time they've been super helpful to me. We all have different experiences I guess.

I think Tractor Girl was polite and I've no idea why you think she's being nasty . TG contributes a lot to this thread, so perhaps you should listen to the advice of some of those who've been doing this a little longer, before you jump to conclusions!

How was that reply of any use to me? I came on to this thread to ask a question. Instead, I am encountering playground hostility - I don't like being ganged up for asking a perfectly valid question.

Can you answer my original question, if not, please do not get involved?

It is nice to know I can rely on people like you for support - you have made it clear I am not welcome in your little clique :(

Thank you very much for your hostile and unhelpful reply and hope you get the level of help you are giving to me when you need it.

How was that reply meant to be useful or helpful?

Are you able to answer my question? If not, why are you getting involved?

Gap have been unhelpful and came onto this thread to ask why

I didn't not expect to encounter this level of playground hostility

I thought this thread was meant to be supportive and helpful - clearly you have made your cliques and newcomers are treated like trash.

Clearly I am wrong for thinking this was the right place to ask for help :(
