I wouldn't trust GAP as far as you can throw them.

I joined up 3 weeks ago then they sacked me today for no reason

I have emailed them to ask for an explanation.

You get 3 goes to pass the orientation then you can get the work.

The money isn't that great either. By the time you pay for parking and petrol, you get very little from it.

    Watch your backs with them:(

In fact I would advise people to avoid them.
Yes, please, everyone avoid them like the plague

I actually quite like Gap and think you're being a trifle harsh on them.

Their jobs are usually very simple scenarios, most of the questions are tick boxes, and no, maybe they don't pay much but if, like today, I can go out and do 3 or 4 different shops for them in the same town, it's pi$$-easy. (And fabulous when I've got a coffee job to end with :rotfl:)

Gap is a brilliant "first" company for someone to start MS-ing with, and then when they get more confident they can move on to the jobs which involve more work and you get paid more for.

Thanks TG, just reading the brief and it does state that you shouldn't use vouchers so I guess that answers it then ;)
I am looking forward to it actually as never eaten there before!

Hi - thanks for replying - so do I get my fee plus the reimbursed eye test or does the fee need to cover the eye test as well? Thanks
    It depends

Some say the fee includes all parts, some break it down into each part such as the job fee plus expenses.

Eye tests cost £25. So long as you send the prescription and receipt plus anything else they ask you for, you should not be out of pocket.

CC, I would agree wholeheartedley with TG.

Give them a chance - the feeling you had about Gap is the same i had when I started with them. Once you do a few it becomes well, pi!! easy!

When you consider what data they want from you, compared to other companies - good and bad - you realise it's easy money for the workload. It only starts looking good when you do piles of them a month, which isn't a difficult feat even if you work in the one town.

I've done this before, with a petrol station job. I said that I'd assumed the receipt was in the bag but when I got home, it wasn't there. I took a photo of the bag, and the items I'd purchased, and said I could send it to them if necessary. I didn't have to send it, and I got paid without them so much as querying it.

I wish I had done that! When I first started I actually went back again to carry out the visit! :o

I used to forget a receipt quite often when I first started, and now I ask for one automatically, everywhere!!

    I haven't the faintest idea:confused:

I have emailed them to find out and typically they have ignored me

I would accept it if I had done anything wrong or they had explained why. Until then, I think they suck.
