Can someone just help me with Gap? Just signed up and did the general orientation. DO I have to get 100%? Also do I have to do an orientation with each of the companies individually to see their jobs? Was confused as I went and did a search adn saw lots of jobs for companies I hadn't oriented with yet...

You have will be able to see the jobs, but not able to take them until you've done the tests.

    BE CAREFUL WITH THE TESTS

You must get 100% (i.e all correct answers) some let you have 2 or 3 goes at it, but fail and you'll not be able to try after that. Be VERY careful.

I wouldn't trust GAP as far as you can throw them.

I joined up 3 weeks ago then they sacked me today for no reason

I have emailed them to ask for an explanation.

You get 3 goes to pass the orientation then you can get the work.

The money isn't that great either. By the time you pay for parking and petrol, you get very little from it.

    Watch your backs with them:(

In fact I would advise people to avoid them.

To be fair I agree with passing orientations it should make sure clients get good results from decent shoppers. The money might not be great but there are very few companies with 'great' money and I find that gap at least tend to have several jobs in the same area which can be done on the same day, and you can usually plan fairly well ahead meaning you can pick up other jobs from other companies.

Of course sacking without warning especially after such a short period of time seems odd and very unfair (did you cancel/reschedule alot of jobs in that time?) I know they've sacked other shoppers but none that I know of so quickly.

No, I hadn't taken on any jobs as there were none in my area.

If I commit to a job, I carry it through.

I am a very good worker and produce good results.

I am awaiting a reply from them as to why they did this.

I signed up for 2 jobs in my area, and had to reschedule one of them and cancel the other as something urgent came up with work.

Never heard a thing from Gap. Maybe theres just too many people signed up in your area?

Very odd, I can only think it was because you hadn't taken any jobs or that they decided they have enough/too many shoppers in your area to make it worth keeping you on, I hope you do get an answer from them about it though.

I have my first glasses shop coming up. Has anyone done one before? Do you know whether you can use any vouchers as the cost of the eye exam is actually more than the reimbursement. TIA x

I've been 'sacked' from golden arches jobs by Gap - apparently I've done too many of them (probably about 10-12 in 6 months over 4 sites in 3 different towns) at least half of which I've done because they've phoned me up desperate. I wouldn't mind but they've cancelled the 2 I'd booked in a couple of weeks, one of which I'd arranged a couple of appointments around doing - oh well you win some you lose some, probably better for my waistline anyway ;)

Does anybody know for sure what's going on with the underground sandwiches shops now? There are loads on GAP, but there are still some showing on RE too. Are they in different regions or something, or are RE and GAP taking turns or something daft like that?

I think that theyre run as a franchise so possibly arranged regionally? Or competitor visits on RE (as GAP tend to say when its a comp visit)?
