FFP.. next year get something for yourself and give it to hubby so the children can wrap it up!! he is a man.. he has no brain to engage!! Hug those babies tight, 2 more little ones woke up this morning with their mummy gone.. they are so special all the flowers and sweets in the world cannot replace them or you, and I know you love them dearly really.. and when it comes to fathers day... hankies and socks!!! Or just plain don't bother!! Seriously though get him something you know he will hate.. see if he makes more effort on your presents after that!
Thanks Pigpen. The thing that got me was he didn't need to get me anything I would have been far happier if I just had the stuff the kids had made as they are special. It was the what do you want? Oh! I CBA so I'll just get anything it doesn't really matter. During my scream I did say heaven help him come fathers day but I know I won't do it, and he complained at christmas cause no one got him socks, theres a thought do you still get Hi Karate that would sort him out! He always says it's the age difference that causes the problem for everything from whats for tea to stuff like this. I could tell you about christamas but Hey ho......
Hex2 I may get round to talking to him but at present I can't see the point but I can see where you are coming from. Sometimes I feel I get no where in here unless I scream at the pitch of my voice.I'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0 -

It isn't down to age difference it is down to lack of interest which is unfair to you and also does make your role as mum appear unappreciated.. if they can't make a small effort once a year there is something wrong.
I think a good talking at might be in order..
I'm not really good on presents.. I got a bunch of school/homemade cards and a bunch of flowers and a handmade flower from DD3.. and my house tidied!

For my DH first fathers day i had ds feet painted and put on a mug. DS is now 4 and i have not had a mug with hands on which i hint at every year.
I did get a mug with ds first day at school picture on for Christmas.
DS made a card at school and drew me a picture of a flower using the computer.
Better than anything you can buy from the shop was the big wobbly hug and the I love you mummy from ds when he came down this morning.
No lie in for me couldn't sleep.
Money tight and on the rare occaison DH buys flowers the cat eats them !!!! Officially Debt Free Nov 2012 :beer:0 -
Hello all, thank you for the messages of support. Still feeliing down but made a fuss of wifey and DS2 which has helped (DS 1 off on camp for a week:D). Made a cup of tea and gave it to wifey in bed with breakfast this morning. We have also spent time playing on rockband today
Wifey does have presents that she bought for the kids to give her but we will wait until both are around to give it to her. She also got pressies from the boys which they have made so I think she has had a good day.
I had a good chat to my mum who is worried about me but we will see them later on at Easter which will be good. Hope the day improves for those that need it and hugs to all

Valli - can you come and help me please? I have THREE kingsize duvet covers in the ironing basket, and there's nothing else left so I can't put it off any longer

lol, just don't iron them, greenbee!
Roast is smelling great, stuffing and roast veg on the go now. I'm stuck in the kitchen with my book until it's all done now as boiling swede for mash takes ages and I daren't leave it on....the lounge is right down the other end of the (big) flat.Mum to gorgeous baby boy born Sept 2010:j0 -
What are you roasting Rach? We have chicken tonight.
I need to unburden someone else's problem. Just had best friend up the road phone in a really down state. I don't know how to advise her. Two of her kids seem to think her and her husband are the local bank, ready to bale them out whenever needed and when the answer's no go off in a huff. Trouble is, they are scratching around to keep their roof over their head as it is.
There. Unburdened. Thank you for listening. I feel better now.

Hi,
Hope all the mums have had a a nice day & hugs for anyone who finds this day difficult. I saw my mum & gave her a hug & some chocolates & a card. DH, along with his brother, took his mum out last night for a meal. It's nice for him to be out & about.
RIP Jade. My thoughts are with your loved ones. If anyone reading this has been putting off going for a smear test, then PLEASE GO0
