Hex it never amazes me how the step parent always ends up feeling bad when the parent lets down the child. Your ss is old enough to realise but not fair for the little ones.
You should not feel bad.
Poor DH stuck in the middle and with a bad back to boot.
Hope you can still have lots of fun when ss eventually arrives home.
Was this a deliberate act on her part or just a regular sunday thing. Officially Debt Free Nov 2012 :beer:0 -
Polkadot.. congratulations to you both..
I have done no studying this weekend BUT I am off to my friends next weekend and I have almost regained some house!!
The girls are on the back room, the boys are doing their room and I have already had the 2 living rooms done.. most of it is vacuumed.. my cleaner will think we have had someone else in when she comes on tuesday lol The littlies are thrown out in the garden too!!
I am desperately trying to get on top of the laundry with only one machine working and failing there is just mountains!!! And as fast as i do a load someone brings 2 more down!
I have swollen glands in the neck again which usually means tonsillitus for me.. so fingers crossed it won't be.
Re. Jade.. yes it must be awful.. her mum losing her daughter and the boys losing their mummy.. breks my heart just thinking about it! She has had a lot of opportunities and hopefully has secured a good life with excellent prospects for her sons.. what greater gift should she have left them with.. poor little loves. At least her suffering is at an end. It's all a bit close to home for me at the mo.. my sis is back for another colposcopy next month.. the first since having the baby.. fingers crossed it is all still ok..LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Not sure what's wrong with me really.(selfish and self centred?)Through the week OH asked me what he should get me for mothers day as he's rubbish at all that so I said just get me a pot plant of some sort. The kids, bless them, had made me my breakfast (full fry up and a nice cuppa) and had made cards and gifts which were really lovely. OH had got them 3 bunches of half dead flowers to give me and a box of sweets he knows I don't like. So I gave it big licks to the kids about how lovely all the stuff was then they went out the back to play and I screamed the face off OH. I just wish he would engage his brain. So I went back to bed turned on the TV and the news about Jade was on, so now I'm feeling bad I should count my blessings really. I'm just soooooooo annoyed with him, I haven't forgiven him for forgetting my 30th either. I always go the extra mile when choosing him stuff and he nips round to the garage to choose mine. I'm just being silly reallyI'm not a muggle...I'm just magically challenged0

My third attempt at posting this!
Funfair, for what it is worth I don't think it is unreasonable of you to mind. At the end of that day though you both need to take the time to understand and adapt to what matters to the other. I had a very painful argument with my DH a few years ago when he said I had never bought him a 'significant' present - he meant expensive, I meant important - either way I really rather p'd off. What matters in a present is very different to both of us and we both work harder now we know that. To me as well bothering to wrap it matters, to him it doesn't, blah de blah. May be worth calmly explaining what you expect?'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
FFP.. next year get something for yourself and give it to hubby so the children can wrap it up!! he is a man.. he has no brain to engage!! Hug those babies tight, 2 more little ones woke up this morning with their mummy gone.. they are so special all the flowers and sweets in the world cannot replace them or you, and I know you love them dearly really.. and when it comes to fathers day... hankies and socks!!! Or just plain don't bother!! Seriously though get him something you know he will hate.. see if he makes more effort on your presents after that!LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0

Thankfully, being a great fan of extended warranties it is covered.. I just haven't got round to arranging a repair.. but it is 3rd thing on my list for tomorrow!!! It is the door catch that has broken so it is only a 5 minute job as well which makes it more annoying!
