I was planning to get the lozenges like Ozzyfan on Tuesday, but the cashpoint wasn't working (see I just can't part with my money anymore :rotfl: ) so I just went without.

I got my patches through the doc - I could go back there and try something else on script. I'm trying to find out when the next lot of clinics start - they held a 30 min one weekly x 6 weeks at lunchtime in the complex where I work, which would be perfect for me. Eves are no good - childcare is such a problem.

Patches have to go - yes, I have incredibly sensitive skin. So lozenges or the inhalator look my next best bet.

Ooh, meant to add that I've just set up a £20 overpayment to my cc tonight - what would normally have been spent on ciggies in a week!

  • You've got to read Allen Carr, its be bee's knee's, buy it cheap off Ebay, then, when you've read it and packed in, you can sell it back, you'll have packed in smoking for virtually nowt. There's no need for expensive gum and patches, even prescription prices. You're still giving yourself the deadly drug with patches and that manky chewy. Willpower, take the alternative choice, dont smoke you dont need it, dont put it in your system at all then the so called cravings will pass. honestly, please try Allen Carr, you will not be dissapointed, you'll be proud. Quitter for 9mths, aint easy, but what is??
RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.

Thanks. I've got the book, read it twice and it's not worked for me. I know alot of others that it has worked for though. I do think about the "nicotine dragon" et al.

Happy to lend it out to anyone who wants for the price of postage though.

  • Thank you everyone for your support and a really big well done to you all.

I'm going to see my gran tonight and although its going to be a long and slow recovery (maybe 13 weeks not being able to walk) I know that shes a fighter and I'm sure that even at 82 she is strong willed enough.

All those of you who are struggling don't worry. You will get there with the help of your friends and family both on line here and at home.

    Keep up the good work.

    Hi everyone

    How's everyone found today?

Day 6 - Still haven't got the lozenges or the inhalator - managing with patches and taking them off when too itchy. Think it'll be Saturday before I get something new to try now.

Feel very tired today - anyone else finding this? Maybe it's just the PMT!!

The good news is that I'm becoming a whizz at pencil twiddling :rotfl:

  • Ha ha - the pencil twiddling! Do you get the foot tapping too?
Went cold turkey with OH 5 weeks ago, but after 3 weeks failed and now a couple of evenings a week share a rolly between us. Funnily enough only crave at home in the evenings and finding smell quite repulsive in pubs?! We've been arguing like mad lots, I've been an emotional, stroppy cow and I am soooo bored of Allan Carr (borowed from library in true mse style!). Still determined not to get back into the mode I was in before where I couldnt function without one as soon as I got up! Good luck to all those on the same mission.

Well done Ozzy and BC :T

I've surprised myself that I've got this far and it sounds like an achievement when you say 'a week' - really motivating! Thanks Ozzy. And you're doing grand too. We're winning the battle!

Hey BC - yes, the foot tapping is more like a leg jigging act and people have noticed it at work!!

Oh and I got rid of the smelly plant today, couldn't stand it any longer! :rotfl:

I haven't told my family that I've stopped - so it'll make a nice change not to have to 'pop out for a quick puff' after lunch on Easter Sunday. I wonder if they'll notice?

    D&DD - how's your day been?
