Hi Ang
At least you're a parent that is taking direct action and interest in the conduct of your child at school. I'm sure there are plenty of parents that don't give two ***** what their kids get up to.
When I was doing my teacher training, i sat in on a parents evening. the English teacher asked one of the parents if they sat and read with their child. The response came back: "Why would I do that? That's what they come to school for!"
What chance on earth has that poor kid got with a parental attitude like that?
You keep ringing girl, if that's what it takes for the school to get the message that you care about Joe's education!!!

Hi Angie!! I'm glad DS has had a better day at school!!
With regards to keeping up to date with DS's behaviour - could you start a 'contact book' that both you and the teacher (or SENCO) can make notes in regarding DS behaviour.... good and bad obviously!! My DSS has a book that is primarily used for keeping notes on his reading etc, but anything that needs to be passed between us and the school gets written in there!!start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0 -

Oi - i saw that - greedy mare my @rse, just wait Strumps...I will get my own back:p
Angie
Sounds like you are doing a sterling job - as for Joe misbehaving that could be because he is bored. Keep on at the school about him though because they are there to educate him.

Hi Nats,
We did have a contact book, but the teacher found it hard to write in it everyday, and she does have 25 other children to look after too. These were her words!
Even when i asked for work not done at school to be sent home i was told that too, i mean, if the works already been set and DS hasnt done it how hard can it be to put it in the book bag
It does seem sometimes that they have come to the conclusion that DS is a trouble maker, comes from a young single parent family so why do they have to make the effort with him or me for that matter.
My dad will be coming to the meeting with me in April as otherwise they ignore me compleatly! At least if he is there im taken a little more seriously.
How are you anyway Nats, youve not updated your diary?!0 -
Morning all,
Spent so far today,
£5.80 ciggarettes - im smoking more at the moment
£2.60 Train
£1.00 hot x buns (found a pound bought them in for people at work)
So £30.60 left (taken out tutors money) I also need to nip to the chemist for DS as I think, well ok know hes got threadworms or what ever they are called. Not nice i know, so looks like im going to be washing clothes / bedding daily for a while. Never mind these things happen I suppose.
Hope everyone is okay today, im going to try and be more positive, I WILL, I WILL, I WILL!0 -
Hi Ang,
£30.60 left until when?
I went to Morrisons last night and spent £27.02 and got masses of stuff for me and OH. We'll deffo be able to last the week on what I bought. Admittedly, there was no meat involved because we are running our freezer down at the moment before it blows up taking £££ of food with it!!!
Anyway, there were some really good 2 for 1s on "ordinary" stuff, like tuna, coleslaw and beans, so I stocked up. Usually the offers are on stuff I never buy like expensive shampoo (coat your hair in plastic and watch it shine!!!) and cat food!
I am trying to feed us both on less than £100 a month whilst we pay off our OD.
Did I read that you do a lot of home cooking for you and Joe?
And you WILL be more positive today or I'll withhold your French Fancy allowance!!!!
Uncle Strumpet!!!

Have you visited the Money Saving Old Style Board?
There's loads of ideas on how to make every penny count. When I was skint i bought Stardrops (magic product for use everywhere). It was 67p and you could do your laundry with it, clean floors, bathrooms - everything.
Check out the board! There are some people who descale their toilets with cheap vinegar and swear that it's far better than well known brands of bog cleaner.
Food for thought old bean!!!

Hi Uncle Strumpet :hello: Im still being positive :j
I love the old style board! The other night i was up gone midnight reading a thread about plate pie! Oh and the £20 to last til payday thread!
The £30.60 is to last until payday, its to cover travel really and anything else that may pop up - like DS needing his bits today.
Im lucky that i am a bit of a horder and get cold sweats if i dont have at least 2 weeks worth of food in the house. At least this way, no matter what happens we can eat and DS can have his lunches.
DS and i usually do ok for £100 a month on the food budget, as i like to bake bread / cakes etc - well okay i dont really bake the bread, just chuck it all in the breadmaker and forget about it for a few hours. I tend to do it overnight, just so we can wake up to the smell of fresh bread:D Also we dont eat as much meat as we used to which makes a big difference to the budget.
Must admit, i fall down on the cleaning products though, esp washing powder and frabric conditioner. Lenor - yellow one. But that is quite expensive at £3.50 a bottle.
Anyway need to dash to boots to get my DS sorted, going now before it rains again! Hopefuly the tablets wont cost too much.0 -
Hi Angie!!
Glad that everything seems a little calmer for you at the moment!
Keep up the PMA!!! It does work!!
