    Well Evening,

Havent really been up to much, just the usual tidying and washing. Spent most of the afternoon at the park with DS. He has his tutor at 11.30 tomorrow which is expensive but worth it. Ive realised thats why im so skint this month as well as my bad planning. I hadnt budgeted for it either.

Still have loads to do around the house and am planning to be up early so i can get a few bits done and get to Mr T's before the tutor comes tomorrow.

Also still need to fine tune the budget for April, it will be tight and should be do - able.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

    Morning

Well DS tutor still isnt here  maybe she forgot to put her clock forward  Oh well, DS is doing some sheets printed from the internet at the moment.

Anyway, have already got most of dinner preped and 2 loaves of bread for the week realised though that i need something to go into DS lunches so maybe if i can afford it later a block of cheese too. (if the tutor doesnt show it will be a god send)

Still need to scrub the bathroom and my bedroom but hoping that i will get everything done today, i really need to get of off MSE :o Its far to addictive!

    Hiya!

Just wanted to say I think you are doing really well and keep that momentum going!

I must admit when I come across diaries of single parents I am always especially interested. I'm not one now but I was for a while when my DD2 was about 8 months old and DD1 was 3, and like you I worked and had debt.

NowI have my OH and we have a little 3 week old baby (aw!) and I still have debt:o It's nice to have someone to lean on, but believe me, there is a certain freedom and self-reliance you have when it's just you - having only yourself to answer to means at the end of the day you only have yourself to hold accountable which can be a lot easier when it comes to making decisions as there's no one to persuade you that night out is a good idea/the takeaway won't hurt/buying the next brand up of cereal etc won't cost that much more just for today la la la la la...

So I'd definitely use that to your advantage. Keep it up!

    Hi.
I have just read this from start to finish this morning, I hope you do not mind me saying this, but a while ago I had one of those yogart things given to me off a person that was giving me a electric steamer on freecycle, and just thew that in as an extra.
Very nice of her, but I had never seen one before and was clueless.
I noticed that you wrote that you bought some packets for it, not sure how much they cost, but I have never bought any packets and if we want flavours we just mash up some fresh fruit, and eat it like a "fruit corner"
I also use the really nasty milk that comes in the box for about 35p instead of fresh milk to make it even cheaper.
I do not think I have bought any yogart now for the last nine months, only ever the starter right at the begining, and I use a lot as a dip for chips and in curries also to marinade chicken legs for tandoori, so about 2liters a week at least.

Also, and please do not think I am preaching, but have you thought of smoking "roll up" ciggs, perhaps just when you are at home, and no-one can see you, I do this, I have a little machine that makes them and I buy filters and papers from poundland that lasts about a month for 2 quid. Now a "real" cigg is a treat and only for when I go out, because of the filters my hands do not go all stained and nasty looking. I have never worked out how much I save as I have never been brave enough to admit even to myself how much it costs me in the first place.
When I first found this site I spent an age on the "old style" pages, like other people have said about stardrops it really is good, also from reading those pages and other sites I make loads of things from "savoury rice" to "ready break" to my own washing powder and hand wash, all these small changes have saved me about 50 pounds per month, on their own it seems a small thing to do but when they all are added up it really makes a differance at the end of the month, and I still have a little left.
Sorry this is long, and I hope I have not come across as sounding, preachy.

    :T
Not at all preachy, thanks for the imput, i need it. I was thinking about roll ups too, before i met ex bf i used to smoke rollies, but then changed to ciggs. I used to smoke alot less rollies to ciggs so think its worth while, and then maybe i can quit someday :o

The yougurt maker i bought ages ago and never got on with it, and to be honest im still not getting on that well with it! Only one sucess out of 4 and only 2 packets left so going to try the longlife milk way once pay day is here, im compleatly out of milk powder too! :o

    :rotfl:

Thanks, I do! At times i do wish i was 'with someone' but then remember back to what it was like, ok, i got a bad one last time, but just even the fact the boy wouldnt eat certain things, i once fed him cous cous and told him it was rice just to get him to eat it. Plus there was the beers, all the junk he ate, and then the fact DS wanted the rubbish too.
Maybe one day when DS is older I'll get another one, better class this time. Its gotta be third time lucky, right :rotfl:

PS Congrats on the new baby!
