how to change my ip address??

If u did oh well.. its my gmail spam account which i use for all forums/msg boards/news groups etc etc etc... thats why i use it for that.
Anyway, as for privacy, i still think if someone wants to be so so so so private, then they shouldnt be on the internet. Anything can be traced even with masking. You're just delaying the process lol.
I'm pretty sure some child !!!!!! rings would have been using masking before they got owned.[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

not everyone who wants privacy is a member of a child pron ring. Anonymous proxies are very hard to pin down as they completely mask the link to the outgoing site. Your ip is only traced to the proxy server. There probably is a way but it would be difficult.0

"not everyone who wants privacy is a member of a child pron ring."
It was only one example
Yes there is a way :P In fact, your less anonymous using a none anonymous proxy. Why? Because when anonymous proxies are investigated (if illegal material is stored thru their servers, which is very common), then all the ip's used get retrieved and there ya go!
So if you are doing naughty stuff, anonymous proxies aren't the way forward
Just still i dont see the point...[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

there's also another reason to occasionally use a proxy - sometimes isps either block sites or sites fail to load - using a proxy can solve this.0

once again if ISPS block sites.. its blocked for a legal reason. Getting round this will be breaking terms/illegal.
As for failing to load, then that'll be an ISP issue.. but its VERY rarely that this would ever happend (never a working site failed to load for me due to ISP issue)[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Just remember that if what your saying is then Merciless is that if companies
have a right to have an IP for subscriptions then wouldnt it be the case then
that all IPs would be static and none would be DHCP.
Im sorry but I have to agree with gunneradt, I use Hide IP now and again Ver 2.6
and its very handy indeed, especially with non-loading sites.0 -
Most companies do have static ip addresses.
It's only needed if you have a server anyway really.
Whether static/DHCP... thats nothing to do with my point or this conversation
Logs auto store ip's..[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Yes Ok then0 -
Wow im so confused now!!!
ANnnnnnnnnnwwwwwayyyyy the point of this conversation is the use of ip address masks... not whether companies have static or dynamic ip addresses(or the users of company websites in that case).
As I said, an ip address i like a home address. Something where packets can be sent to you. If packets can be sent to you, then so can other things (like tracerts). If you really want to block it, then you're prob doing something you shouldnt..[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Not true at all...
Its personal choice, thats the www for you though it expands ideas
not restricts them to some bizarre conformity.0
