DT needs more board guides

We only have Glad for Discussion Time and she gets a lot of grief from members because she cannot be around all the time when we need threads/posts deleted.

I agree, it is one of the more lively parts of the site and lacks a lot of self discipline.

Its a good job Glad has broad shoulders and is tolerant.

It's just not fair on her. I would volunteer but only if I were allowed to delete posts as well as threads because I would delete all the bad posts from those who try to entice arguments and insult others.

I seem to recall a post by Sue (edit - it was Andrea) recently that stated that there is no intention for there to be any more BG's on DT. I had a look but couldn't find it, and I'd be interested to know why this is the case.

I'd happily volunteer, not sure if I'm squeaky clean enough though.

"Glad does a great job on the Arms and DT and as neither she nor any of the BGs deal with any abuse issues we're not looking for anyone to join her on there."

People reported threads last night, the thread was still there this morning. abuse do a good job as does Glad, but more BG's are needed in DT.

Kimberley, good on you for starting this thread but I personally think its a waste of time even trying to get more BG's. The people in high places know best, us people who come here day in day out know nowt

I just think that it was a mighty shame that horrible nasty things said about a dying girl on a forum that the public could read took a whole day to be closed despite the efforts of a few to attract the attention of Glad and the abuse team.

If there were more then one BG then the thread could have been closed as soon as it was seen.

Another BG is not necessarily going to see the thread either. They are volunteers who have real lives too. (or most of them do. :p)

It's been said before that as the Arms and DT are not to do with moneysaving, resources are not aimed at them so I doubt there will be any more BGs any time soon.;)

It is a shame though because many a new member has been scared off.
