I just think that it was a mighty shame that horrible nasty things said about a dying girl on a forum that the public could read took a whole day to be closed despite the efforts of a few to attract the attention of Glad and the abuse team.

If there were more then one BG then the thread could have been closed as soon as it was seen.

Out of interest why did you keep bumping it up to say it was still there

The thread was always up the top regardless of what I said.

I always thought a 'job' description of a Moderator or Board Guides was to be fair and impartial .To weigh up the posts and to keep order.

The ones calling for more BG are assuming they would have supported the requests to delete the posts that 'some' were finding difficult.

Would beg to suggest , that might not have been the case.

I also think some threads were closed unfairly. The type of BG I was thinking off would only delete threads that were started by a troll to entice arguments and delete posts that were insulting to others or those ones being nasty to other members.

All it would take is for some of the existing BGs to help out Glad in here if necessary, as they already know the ropes and have developed a thick skin... ;)

I dont think BG's should be around to delete, I think they should be able to lock threads and if any need deleting let abuse deal with that when they get here.

To do that the new BG must be someone capable of real impartiality and not be led by personal likes or dislikes the way so many regular DT/Arms users are.

Far too many bona fide users have been called trolls and AEs, by other bona fide users.

A closed thread can be reopened, Kimberley. A deleted thread or post may not, depending if it's a soft delete or not.

So for a BG to lock a thread is the proper thing to do, because if there is any contention it can be restored.

I didn't think of it like that. The bad posts can be deleted then the thread reopened. I get it :D
