As I've already said, I take ONE small tablet, I'm not knocked out, doped, or anything else. I am still very alert and aware of everything going on. Have you ever taken a valium? The only effect it has on me is to "take the edge off" my anxiety.

if your taken valium where would it matter where you sat.OTHER than emergency exits.
thats just selfish.dont sit there.how irresponsible can you be.no matter how large or small the tablet.if any thing were to happen,
a the airline would be fined a huge amount of money, and b ,could you live with yourself if you were on valium and couldnt do something that you had to do, because you wanted to sit in a comfy seat.
    please dont.

If it does anything physical or chemical to 'take the edge off your anxiety', then by definition it does change your natural body balance, at least in some way, and you really ought not sit in the emergency seats. Indeed I'd be surprised if it weren't illegal to do so. If, however, what actually happens is that somewhere in your brain a switch clicks and says 'I know I've taken a pill and I know I'm ok when I take them so I'll be fine now', I would say the effect is more psychological than physical. If this is true, there would be the same effect from taking a blank pill (as long as you didn't know it was blank), and, eventually, you would be able to learn to control your nerves without medication. However, while taking drugs that are actually designed to relax you it is imo very inappropriate for you to sit in the exit row.

You ungrateful ******** people gave you lots of advice at no cost to you and at no gain to themselves.

Do you expect people to personally start ringing round and then writing reports? Oh and you didn't thank a single poster who helped you.

Lucky for you im not sat in front because you would get a slap.

No I wouldn't. You'd turn round, and I'd politely point out that my legs are already squashed in as much as they can be, and it's not physically possible for you to recline your seat. How would you manage it? Take a hacksaw to my legs to create space that physically isn't there?

I find the whole concept of reclining seats quite selfish anyway, unless there really is enough space for it not to impact on the person behind. Why should you make yourself more comfortable at the expense of the person behind?

I actually agree, i hate it when the person in front reclines their seat and for me is an all time bug bear on flights.

But - as a person in front of me once kindly put it - if you want comfort get business class seats.
