caz, when she's all cuddled up safe in your arms sleeping she is actually building great neural pathways that will be making her feel secure and happy... These pathways are the building blocks of how we turn out as adults and once built, can't be un-built... Better to build nice comforting ones than ones of abandonment and despair by leaving her to cry...

Mrs Moc - glad everything is ok and they have let you home.
Thanks to Elle, Glam and anyone else who replied regarding maternity clothes. I never intended to buy larger size normal clothes instead of maternity clothes, I just wasn't sure if I needed something to do me until I get more of a bump or if I could buy maternity clothes straight away.
Do we think that trousers with adjustable sides are better than over the bump trousers? What is the difference? Is it just individual preference? I might go and look tonight and see what they have in Next.
I had my scan on Friday (we only get one scan here), and they gave my date as 20th Sept which is close to the date I already had. I will try to add my scan picture so bear with me......0 -

Fitzio, I have a pair of casual trousers in a bigger size that still fit ok now as my bump is quite high... I prefer over the bump maternity trousers as the under bump kind seem to need constantly pulling up... But I think it's personal choice...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... Me too! I've just gone out and replaced the two pairs of maternity jeans I bought when I was 8 weeks pregnant, which were the type with the adjustable bits at the side as they've been driving me bonkers! They aren't tight over the bump, but they gape at the small of my back and constantly feel like they are slipping down, even though there's no chance of that with a bump the size I'm sporting! The over the bump ones, though they look naff without a top on, are miles more comfortable and feel nice and secure.
My poor hubbie though, with my boulder-catcher bras, big knickers and over the bump trousers, must be really pleased that we decided to go for number 3! :eek:0 -

3OIW If you really want to spoil her then whip your top off and have a bit of skin to skin... It's even better than a cuddle with your clothes on! (Plus its great for regulating their temperature!)

My favorites at the beginning were the type with the adjustable elastic inside a normal looking waistband. Like you get in the childrens jeans etc.
I got some dark blue skinnys from DP's at the beggining, they fitted til the end, and i've got them on now even though i'm back to normal, they're so comfy and look normal.
The big deep over the bump ones are great and comfy towards the end.:beer:0 -
Krystal - I was just musing
I remember there being some sensationalised headline (I never actually saw the article or the thing it was actually based on tho - as if TV/papers ever give he full facts LOL)
It said that the gov were considering paying single mothers something like £20 to encourage them to name the father. What I couldn't understand is how it would have worked as I knew that Matt had to come with me to be on Chris's as we weren't married then and thought well you can't just say "Mr X is the father" coz there isn't a box for it.
I do think it would be handy if there was a sort of "mother says this bloke is the daddy" sort of a section tho, maybe just on the official records and not the actual cert you have a copy of just so if you wanted to find out later and ur mum wasn't as good as u with the info they could go and look at the official entry and see if someone is named.
Fitzio - Very good scan pic- most cute
As others have said the mat pants thing is personal, I can't stand "on the bump" pants I like the ones that are hipster or up to my boobs.
My bump is quite sensitive esp my now outie belly button so I don't like it if my pants end on my bump coz they rub
and Call ur Next to check before you make a trip because non of my local ones have it in store (and I'm counting abut 5 stores 2 of which are huge ones!) same goes for M&S, they used to have lovely stuff but now ur lucky if they have anything other than BFing bras :rolleyes:0
