another dumb question, I made an appt for DH to register baby today.I've looked at what you have to tell them and do. It doesn't say you need to take the baby tho, is that right?
I know it sounds a bit daft, but if you can just rock up and register a fake baby then what's to stop multiple benefit fraud?;)
You definitely don't need to take the baby though its fine if you do! If you think about it, the birth needs to be registered within 6 weeks of the birth, and some very preemies will still be in hospital then!
We took no 1 with us and registered him together. OH registered no 2 when she and I were both still in hospital. The registry office will have a print out of all births which has been provided by the hospitals (or midwife I suppose if it was a home birth) which gives the date, time and place of birth and the name of the mother.0 -
Hope all goes ok MrsMoc. XXXToo many children, too little time!!!0

I took Aimee when I went to register her... But my sister waited in the waiting room with her... And she filled her nappy and screamed the whole time... Also, I'd of never got the pram around the tiny little office they ushered me into...
Where my nephew was born, you can register them in the hospital!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Oh I see what you're saying AM, thanks, the dating scans are more accurate than dates of your cycle. Yes, I think you're right.
I'm never sure about them completely tho, cos they're based on head circumference being bang on the 100th centile, aren't they. I don't know, it just seems to me to be a daft way to measure it!
Mrs Moc, Hugs to you in abundance, how very scary, hope all goes well at the hospital, I know you'll be in safe hands there.
Anyone know where sami is? Haven't seen her post for a bit? Hope you're ok sami

Ah! John Lewis!
just looking at your sig. Wondered because both your babies were consistent in their 11 days over EDD whether maybe you have a long cycle (EDDs are based on a 28 day cycle with day 14 as ovulation, which less than half of women have) just a thought, if your periods are usually further apart, you may be being given EDDs with your pregnancies that are too soon for your body. Just a thought, and please ignore if it doesn't fit for you!:D
Love Weezl x
That's true for me. My cycle is about 33-35 days (when regular!) and all of my babies have been late - 7, 8 & 4 days. Although I have an EDD of 19th May (on scan measurements) for this one I'm expecting it to arrive a little late too - but not as late as 1 & 2, more like 3 (who's EDD was also based on 12 week scan, as opposed to LMP like 1 &2 were) I'd SO love one to be a tad early though - not much, a week would be fine!:D If it's late (as I've told everyone it will be) it will be in half term - which is just another (slight) complication!

Sami's staying at her Mum's and off to toddler group this morning... Sure she'll be around a bit later...
I'd love this baby 10 days early... But I have a real feeling it's going to be 7/8days late... Don't know why...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... As people have said, the hospital has a list of births/mums names from the hospital, and they tick you off when you register yours.
I was suprised that you didn't need to provide proof of who you/partner were. OH had to come with me as we're not married, but I was thinking you could take any random man with you, and give any name/dob to them. So if you wanted too, you could put David Beckham or George Cloony as father on the birth certificate!!
Love to MrsMoc. xx:beer:0 -
Thanks Krystal - I think regardless I wouldn't want to travel with an infant so young (and frankly I hate it when people do because invariably the babies end up screaming on the flight and in a tin can with 100's of people for 2 hours I think that's unfair on the other passengers... I've never had a kind thought for people who's kids scream through the whole flight so I'm going to do my darnedest not to become one of them
My experience is if you start them early, and feed them on take off and landing (ideally bf them) then they will always be good travellers. If you wait until they are older, then they are more likely imho always to be a bit difficult.
We have family in Ireland so our two have always flown from an early age (about 3 months for both of them) and neither of them has either given a peep on an aeroplane, no matter how long the flight has been (and one of them is severely autistic so that's no bad thing). It's the babies who are around 10 months + who've never flown before who seem to freak out totally and make life hard for the rest of the passengers. When they are younger than that, provided you manage the ear pressure thing by feeding, being on a plane is no different for them than being in their sitting room at home!0 -
MRs Moc hope everything is OK with you and no pain is a good sign I am sure of it. ((Hugs)) though - I bet you must have been terrified.
I was wondering where Sami was! Normally her's is every other post!! Hope she is fine too XX
I think scans are a load of rubbish dating or otherwise! I know exactly when I ovulated because I peed on ov sticks and they reckon due to dating scan I am due on 20th august. Based on actual ovulation I am definitely due 24th. But will go with their date for now.... Plus with DS they said he was massive and were thinking of planned CS so I had to have a scan at 32 weeks. They took all measurements of foot size and head and stuff and said I was looking at 10lb and not to bring newborn things into hospital with me to go straight to 0-3. When he was born he weighed 7lb, 7.5oz and was just tall with huge feet. I don't think ANYTHING to do with pregnancy is an exact science to be honest!!0 -
