    *does a dance*

I bought over 200 items of baby clothing on ebay last night, 0-6 months is all covered, and I got it for 50 pounds! It includes everything - hats, socks, bibs, sleep suits, gloves, some pretty dresses, lots of dungarees - and now we don't have to think about clothes any more! Remaining on the list is a breast pump, a travel crib, a changing mat (although my OH wants a changing table for some reason), somewhere to put the baby's clothes, the dreaded maternity pads, and then it's all just organising from here and beyond!

AND, because I suspect the baby will grow through them faster than wear them all, there's resale potential too. I'm really pleased.

Congratulations to all new mums and babies.

Tine, babies can fly after 2 weeks... Anything sooner and their ears aren't developed enough... But I don't blame you for waiting either... (Incidentally, breastfeeding makes flying a lot easier!)

Well done on the clothing Sugar, think we might get some ebay clothes once baby's here... But don't know what colour to go for before then!

Searching... Have a weetabix.... I started the day with chocolate cake....

Actually slept well last night, hips didn't give me too much gyp... Although hubby got lucky so my pelvis is hurting today instead... Joy!

  • OOOH OOOH my sister (due 9th march) has been having contractions every 8 minutes since 4am. In her lower back. She took 2 paracetamols at 8am and is now grumpy as the contractions slipped to 15 mins apart!!

Any spare labour vibes to her xx

Thanks Krystal - I think regardless I wouldn't want to travel with an infant so young (and frankly I hate it when people do because invariably the babies end up screaming on the flight and in a tin can with 100's of people for 2 hours I think that's unfair on the other passengers... I've never had a kind thought for people who's kids scream through the whole flight so I'm going to do my darnedest not to become one of them :)
Plan is for us to travel over - probably by car/ferry - later in the summer to see everyone.
Talking about pains - last night/early morning when laid on my side for any length of time (either side) I got really really really bad pains across my bump! Seriously bad pains! Soon as I moved on to my back they stopped but i can't sleep on my back! So feeling a little knackered today to say the least...

DH has just finished his conference call (first of the day) and first thing he asked me was had I packed my hospital bag yet? We only talked about it last night but telling him about Princess has made him super paranoid and I get the feeling he'll hassle me all day until I do it now bless him...

oh God, Im really scared atm. I woke up during the night drenched in blood but with no pain. I have phoned the hospital and have to go down straight away.

I think this has something to do with my low lying placenta.

Oh Mrs Moc, hope everything is OK for you! (I think no pain is better than pain) Keeping our fingers crossed for you xx

Tine, Aimee was about 17 months old when she had her first flight, only 45 mins to Jersey but she was as good as gold, and when we flew 3 hours to Tunisia when she was 20months she didn't make a sound then either... I put it down to feeding her on take off so her ears didn't pop, and just being in tune with her, knowing how to keep her happy and entertained....

hiya greent!;) What's JL? sounds good! do I just google 'JL'?

another dumb question, I made an appt for DH to register baby today.I've looked at what you have to tell them and do. It doesn't say you need to take the baby tho, is that right?

I know it sounds a bit daft, but if you can just rock up and register a fake baby then what's to stop multiple benefit fraud?
    ;)

    Love Weezl x

I expect someone has already answered, but JL = John Lewis ;)

Re: registering baby, our Registry Office gets a list (I guess from hospital/ PCT?) of births and deaths - they cross you off when the baby is registered. We had no letter etc - just went in (with appt) and they looked babies up for birth date and amended their records.

presents for friend - can't help with that one, unless you go for something like some shea butter for itchy bumps/ skin elsewhere. OOh - lav oil for in the bath after? (even with a c/s) or for before to aid sleep?
