Finally posting my birth story, it doesn't seem to be 2 weeks nearly since our baby girl was born, she is still nameless, even after 3 name books, can't agree on a name but need to give her a name now.

M/W came on Sunday to give an unofficial 3rd sweep, It was blooming uncomfortable. And she said there had been some slight changes and that bouncing on the gym ball may have moved things a bit. Well pleased there was a chance something may happen itself.
So as it was our last day before new arrival, decided to go to a retail park and walk around a bit, and do some last minute shopping.
Felt heavy and uncomfortable, thought there might be something going to happen.
Came home and did some ironing and cleaning so I did not have to do it later.
Started to feel a few niggles, and pains and told dh it may happen itself that night.
Posted on here that things may be happening.
Pains were irregular, but started to come every 10 mins early evening.
So sorted older children, and put youngest ds to bed.
Got bathed and sorted myself, still having to breathe through pains, this continued till midnight still at 10 mins getting more painful but not getting any less in the time, and I was dropping to sleep on the gym ball, so went to lie down and see if I could get some shut eye, so not happening tho. Spent 2 hours in bed breathing through the pain, then couldn't stand it no more and got up walking around and breathing through them, did this for an 1 hour on my own, then went and woke dh up for moral support,
then my god did they intensify, they dropped to every 4-5 mins and lasting what seemed like an eternity, phoned mlu to go in, mw said you have plenty of time make your own way down in your own time, (this was no. 6 btw).phoned my parents said need you here now for the other kids.
I remember telling dh I had changed my mind and did not want to have it right now, and swearing a lot, dh thought making jokes would be funny, so not at that time.
Parents arrive, as do more contractions, I'm out the door and on way to hospital, and more pains in the car.
Get to the mlu with a couple of stops for contractions on the way. Get in the room, mw starts to fill in my notes, and fills the birth pool was going to use it for pain relief,
I get a few pains within a few mins, and dh decides to feel ill at this point,(put this down to rushing about and having nothing to eat)the mw !!!!!!s off to get him some cold water, I'm having serious contractions at this point and dh offers to go home and get my mam, I said you have no time for that.
I tell the mw I can feel it in my butt and she said it may be back to back, I tell her it is defo the baby, so hubby helps get my trousers off, and as I go to get examined to see how far dilated I am, my waters go, and I feel the need to push,I push while stood up resting over the bed, and mw saying get on the bed, i'm telling her I want to stand and I'm not moving.3 or 4 pushes and couple mins later our dd is born, 45 mins from arriving at the mlu, our baby girls is born with no pain relief (this was planned to try without pain relief)birth pool never got chance to fill up either.
She was born weighing 8lb 10ozs.
I was discharged at tea time the same day.

Thanks for all your comments. I think that when I speak to her it will be more 'get over it and feel lucky' rather than indulging her with the 'poor you, it must be difficult to deal with'. I have no qualms about being honest with her and telling her what she DOESN'T want to hear but I thought this was more of a sensitive one. But you guys seems to think that she doesn't warrant sympathy in any way! Thanks

I do..... having been there. The rational part of your brain says you know you are lucky - but it doesn't stop the irrational part saying 'yes, I know, but I wanted a pink one....'

I suspect there are more people who feel that way who don't feel they can say because of other people's reactions.

I feel that you are right greent, but it doesnt stop at parents either.
My sisters MIL very rarely sees her son as she had 3 sons of her own and wanted a grand daughter !!! Her other daughter in law is expecting a girl this year, and you can tell wich is getting the most attention already !!!

Some people can go into irrational ways of thinking without trying, the thing is to accept that they are not doing it on purpose, but that they need help
