    hello everyone

millies mum - I love the name eloise - what a great choice :D

I saw this and had to add my experience (I had a girl)

    It's a girl if:
    • You had morning sickness early in pregnancy Oh yes...
    • Your baby's heart rate is at least 140 beats per minute It varied - but was generally above 140 bpm
    • You are carrying the weight in your hips and rear nope - all in a round basket ball stuck on my front
    • Your left breast is larger than your right breast no they were the same, although previously my right breast was ever so slightly bigger than the left.
    • Your hair gets red highlights No hair colour change at all
    • You are carrying high Yes
    • Your belly looks like a watermelon emm.....more like a basket ball?
    • You crave sweets Yes
    • You crave fruit Yes - very much so - esp in the first 4 months where i couldn't eat anything else
    • You crave orange juice Yes
    • You don't look quite as good as normal during pregnancy Yes
    • You are moodier than usual during pregnancy Definitely!
    • You refuse to eat the heel of a loaf of bread No
    • Your breasts have really blossomed! No -they didn't grow at all!
    • Your pillow faces south when you sleep what????
    • Your urine is a dull yellow in colour No idea! think it was paler than normal
    • If you hang your wedding ring over your belly, it moves from side to side Don't know - didn't do this
    • If you add your age at the time of conception and the number for the month you conceived the number is odd well this was hard as conception was right at end of april begining of may - we couldn't pinpoint it acurately :D

That was fun - and shows that it's different for everyone. x

i'll lend you my mum - she's been amazing coming over for the day and doing all the housework :D my help time is almost up now though  I haven't an excuse now I'm better :D

Emlou you poor thing, what a worrying time, all you wanted was a little reassurance, it's awful that they left you all that time. You shouldn't have had to wait so long. A few weeks ago i had a little bleed (nothing like yours& i'm not as far along as you) & my hospital saw me within 10 mins of arriving, did all the tests, gave me a 24hr direct number & were fantastic. But they did say that they didn't want to do any internal tests as prodding abo!t could actually cause something bad to happen! So maybe that's why they didn't do an internal??? I don't know??? :undecided But at least they explained everything to me.
Sending you lots of hugs & positive labour vibes :)

Gosh Emlou thats terrible, what a fright!! Hopefully as you say its a sign things are going to start happening very soon for you.

Sami, I now how it feels not having excess to the loo, my bathroom was out of bounds most days for nearly 2 weeks while the new bathroom was being put in. Tilers are finally coming tonight to finish it, after umpteen calls asking when they are coming back.

At one point while I was in the house alone, I seriously considered peeing in the mop bucket, but the thought of the work men walking in and catching me made me get in the car and drive to the nearest tesco :o
Yes Emlou - that is awful! I'll reel out my fave line; put in a complaint

Well if i get desperate for loo I can brave the layer of dust covering my entire house _pale_ or go next door but-one to the pub so not too bad just don't really want to do either - I'd much rather use my own clean loo ;)

I'll probably be staying at my parents this weekend and some of next week :(
I do love them but mum drives me up the wall, she is rude to me all the time, I've already told my sis that she 'gets' mum when she's old :rotfl: I'm having dad he's so much easier to look after, just keep him fed and provide coffee, beer, puddings with cream/custard and a good dose of motorsport on the TV and he's well happy!:T

Dooley's - Emlou is past her EDD now so you would expect an internal for any probs in case you were dilated :)

Don't worry when I went in to have Chris I had to be told to take my knickers off for an internal by my MW :o:rotfl:

Hi Karen - no its not bad about the crisps - baby obviously wanted them!

Parents - It depends if you think they're going to be useful!
My mum and MIL live about 20 minutes away, and visited most days for the first two weeks - but did nothing but held the baby while I made tea, entertained the other two children (1/2 term week) and carried on doing normal stuff!!

All the books/pregnancy sites say to take advantage of all offers of help, people bringing meals - but we didn't get any offers of help!!

Out of interest - how many of those with babies/children already, had helpful friends/family around? (Is it just my friends and family that are carp?
    ).

Mine are wonderful :o. My parents have both children twice a week and on a Saturday its open house here where everyone squabbles between themselves as to who is changing nappies/feeding :D. I also have two sisters, an auntie and cousins who are forever buying clothes/nappies/formula. I know I am extremely fortunate and never take them for granted but I would be lost without them :o:A.

PS: sorry yours are so carp!

    xx
