My MIL would be welcome to come stay anytime, but my parents would have to stay in a hotel - not that they would ever come visit us anyway.

I keep popping in to see if any news on MFD.

off to have some chinese at ma n pa's - need fuel to help clean all this dust!!
Hubby has brought a HUGE industrial dust vacuum home from work tho :j I knew there would be some kind of benefit to working in dust and fume extraction :rotfl:

    Hi all..

Glam, I'm in a bit of a funny mood too.. been like that all day :( I'm still fed up with the comments on my eating thing from earlier in the week.. comments have carried on - seems like noone can take a hint and I'm going to have to throw an almighty strop next week to shut them all up! :(

OH has now spoken to a nice person at CCCS who thinks it's perfectly fine for me to spend my money on things other than OH's debts ;)

What's everyone having for tea? Chicken korma, veg pilau rice and perswari (sp?) naans here at Elle_gee Towers :)

elle strop away...it really is none of their business what or when you are eating;) We are having Pie and oven chips..should have been served with mash, veg and gravy, but I couldn't be bothered doing all that:)

Who was it who said they were in a bad mood, well I have just had a massive hissy fit and been chucking things round the kitchen:o

    Mel x

When I had DD my parents (mainly mum - dad came and went) stayed for 3 weeks (before and after her birth) and then my MIL arrived for 10 days and then my mum was back for a week. My mum lives 200miles away and my MIL lives abroad. I have to admit i was dreading having all these house guests - particularly MIL who is very nice but still my MIL (!) but in the end it was generaly great. They looked after me and the house whilst I only had to worry about the baby. Theplan is similar this time around (especially convenient as I will have DD to look after whilse I am busy in the hospital)

Out of interest - how many of those with babies/children already, had helpful friends/family around? (Is it just my friends and family that are carp?).
When I had Aimee, my Mum made a big fuss about coming over to help me... What actually happened was she turned up at 7am while me and my new baby were sleeping... So I had to get up... Then she sat in my arm chair reading her magazines all day until she went home... Until the day my sister came over and shamed her into cleaning the bathroom... Oh and my Dad and his GF came for a visit the day my milk came in, so I spent most of the time they were there hiding in the bedroom trying to feed... And they stayed so long I ended up cooking them tea... In between running up and down stairs trying to feed baby! (they got to eat hot food, mine was stone cold by the time I got to eat it too...) And they didn't even offer to load the dishwasher before they left!

My back is killing me... Trying to make Aimee's birthday cake... She want's a porcupine... Which looks quite easy... But have you ever tried to cut up a flake bar without it crumbling into nothing?!
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

I have a friend who has a dilemma. She has a DS and has just found out that her beanie is another DS and she is devastated (truely). She was desperate for a daughter, only ever planned or wanted 2 children and now has gone into a depression abuot how she will never have the DD she always dreamed of. She found out yesterday and went to the doctor this morning as she was so depressed and has been signed off sick for a week (he insisted!!!). I don't know what I can say to her to make her feel better. She said that this is going to hang over her forever and isn't dealing with it very well. Any ideas if there are any support groups on this??? It might sound shallow to be so distressed about this, but to her it is a very BIG DEAL. And being told 'at least it's healthy' is not currently a consolation! Any advice I can give her???? Thanks

PS she is 20 + 4 (1 day after me!)

Dunno if it would work, but how about heating up the knife a bit before you cut?

The only advice i would give her is to be thankful she can have a baby, sorry sounds harsh but it's the truth.
