Morning ladies. Sorry to just drop in unannounced but wondered if I could have your opinions.
I have been invited to my friend's hen weekend down in Southampton, which will be a treck from Worcester, but it will be when I am, hopefully, in my 28th week of pregnancy. Just wondered to those who have been 28 weeks (singleton preg) will I possibly be too uncomfortable/tired etc for 1) a long drive, 2) staying up late and also they want to go to a health club and I think I'd be resticted in what bits I could use (I read a discussion the other week about this so would check with them about it).
Thanks ladies (I am at work but will try and check back to see if anyone has some words of wisdom).
Oh not to mention that it will cost at least £150 just for the hotel etc, not to mention the travelling and drinks (although mine will be cheap!) so at the moment also trying to save as much as possible for the obvious so not sure if I am actually answering my own question.....
Also there might be someone going whom I really cannot stand, but that's another story.....
I read the thread but waiting a bit longer before getting too involved as had a blighted ovum last year and too scared to join in yet!0 -
Morning ladies...I'm so tired and achy. I've got my fingers crossed that when BG return this afternoon they are gonna be able to fix the boiler. I neeeeeeed a bath. Just been looking over the T&C and it will have to be a new boiler if they can't get the part
and ours is about 16 years old so we will only be entitled to discounted installation from the BG policy
Just spotted over on this thread, for those that haven't got the Sainsbury Mum & Baby basket. The nappies have 1/3 off atm and bundle also goes through the till with a 1/3 off, but the till takes off the full £9.99 for the basket.0 -
welcome lizziebell :j
to me its a lot to pay for a weekend that i wouldnt be able to fully participate in.
but regarding tiredness etc only you will know how your body is feeling. i'm only at 15 weeks, but some days i have loads of energy and could tackle the world and others i just want to lie on the couch and take it easy.
i think you answered your own question re the cost, to me, what i will get from it wouldnt be worth the £150+ it would cost.
if its a very good friend they will understand and you could prob arrange something closer to home with her and/or few others'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -
Thanks Jillie
She and some of my other friends are based in Kent where I used to live so it's not so far for them to go. She came to my hen night in Scotland, but we all travelled up together for that one. She also doesn't know I am pg (only my parents and certain work people do for now) and her wedding is the end of August and at the moment we are planning to attend that so maybe better the wedding than the hen weekend?
I think it will be ok to not go, she isn't a very close friend. At the moment I know I wouldn't probably make much of it as completely shattered most of the time, not to mention the lovely on-off m/s.0 -
Lots of health club stuff isn't advisable when you're pregnant - saunas are out because of the heat, steam rooms may be too hot and may be full of the sorts of essential oils you're supposed to avoid, and certain treatments are impossible.
This is a bad day. My grandmother's still in the hospital, she was getting better but is now getting worse again, and I have to leave for a conference on an overnight train. GRRR.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
Three gifts left to buy0 -
i think i would do the wedding rather than the hen weekend. especially as you have to travel some distance. i hate it at the moment when we go out and i;m the only one not drinking, i dont think i could do a hen weekend of it!!'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0

This is what I though (although actually I really don't like steam rooms and saunas anyway-can't breathe properly in there!).
Yes Jille I usually don't fair well being sober when all around me are not, get bored and tired when not pg. Guess I have my answer, I just don't like missing out on stuff, but should have my sensible head on sometimes I suppose!
Cheers0 -
