I keep getting an occasional dull ache low left hand side of my bump and was told thats probably BH. My bump is solid when standing but goes soft when I sit down...oddness.

In my reasearch this afternoon I have come accross several articles which state that the "average" 1st timers 1st stage of Labour (dilation of the cervix from 3cm - full dilation) should last no longer than 18 hours:eek: .... 2nd stage (10cm Dialated to baby arrival) up to 2 hours... 3rd stage (placenta delivery) 1 hour without injection.

I want less than that... so raspberry leaf capsules here I come! :D

Hmmm my bump only tightens when I strain :rotfl: especially if DH has passed comment on my wind - then I make an extra effort to be more windy when he's around :rotfl:

I never changed a nappy during nightime unless it really needed doing as I always wanted as little fuss and disturbance as possible.

How is little Seth?! And how are you feeling?

    xx

seth is awesome, he has officially been discharged from the midwife this morning :j the little fatty is a whole pound heavier than he was at birth lol!!

thank you everyone for your advice on night changes, i will leave him at night now and see how it goes. i've been doing it at every feed which is 2 or 3 a night, i didnt know i could leave it! he hates being changed so much it wakes him up completely and i end up getting frustrated cos its the middle of the night and i miss my sleep so its not good all round really!

on the RLT, the woman in holland and barrett told me the tea was more effective than the capsules, but i dunno, maybe she was on tea commission?!:rotfl: i drank 3 or 4 cups a day from 37 to 42 weeks and my midwife said my uterus contracted a lot faster than most womens after birth, so i think the tea would have had something to do with that so i would reccommend it. i have also practically stopped bleeding just 10 days after and didnt get any after pains except for my second breastfeed in the evening i gave birth, just wearing pantyliners now :D i put ribena in it though cos i couldnt stand the taste, the first time i tried it i gagged!

karen, i did a btec in massage and beauty therapy and we were always told massages were fine on PG women as long as you avoid the middle and dont spend too long massaging the back cos when you do that they are on their front, but at your stage that probably wouldnt be an issue. go for it and enjoy it, it might be the last proper pamper you get for a long while!!:D

AM, the chemical straightening stuff you use, is it only for afro hair? i have frizzy ringlets that dont do proper curly and *neeeeed* to do something about them, it takes me 45 mins to GHD my hair and i just do not have that time to spend atm!
Soemone has replaced my very comfy shoes with shoes that look exactly the same but don't fit on my feet!
my feet went up 2 sizes and i didnt really suffer with swelling feet, only ankles!!

i thought i hadnt had any BH's, i thought the funny little aches i kept getting was me needing a poo or trapped wind :o it was only when i was being monitored 3 days before i had seth that the midwife told me it was BH's lol!

Stargirl, sorry to hear about your redundancy, I lost my job when I was pregnant the first time, I was devastated at the time, but think it was one of the best things that could of happened to me!

Tickly, I have a definite and huge bump when stood up, but from my angle it just looks like a fat belly when I'm sat down!

My timings were... waters breaking to 3cm - 12hrs... 3cm to 5cm - 4hrs... 5cm to delivery - 2hrs 20min I don't know how long I was 10cm for, they never checked me again after 5cm... But it only took 3 pushes to get her out so I think she might of come sooner if I'd of tried... Placenta was delivered in minutes with the jab... Which I won't be having straight away this time...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

    xx
    I've talked myself into a HB :D
After chatting about it with Searching et al. on FB I have decided I'm gonna opt for HB and then I always have the option to change my mind easily plus more likely I can have my mum with me which is what I really want
I'm aiming for a sort of oh what was that little pain, oh feel like baby is coming, "Pop" oh hello new baby :rotfl:

catheter? _pale_ was that coz they thought you'd need surgery?
OH had to have a cath in last year and he said it was the worst thing that has ever happened to him (and he's had a camera up his bum!)
