    Re length of labour

When I had my older kids (22, 20 & 17) I didn't know anything about how dilated etc., I just counted time from the first signs. 1st - waters broke 1 a.m., DS born 5 a.m. 2nd - contractions started 1 p.m., DD born in Casualty 2.45 p.m. . 3rd - contractions started 2.30 a.m., DS2 born 5.30 a.m. 4th - contractions started 3 a.m., DS3 born 4.30a.m. Can you see why after 2nd, I thought I'd never get to the hospital in time?! :D I really didn't have any signs before the contractions or whatever each time - don't think hospital believed me though! Too early to say if this one will follow the same pattern, but I hope so.;)

  • I might order some RLT tablets as well as I keep forgetting to make myself a tea, end up drinking the normal caffine stuff instead! Did you add one or two to your basket? Is its BOGOF I didn't want to muck it up and then have to order more!

Been to midwife today, measuring 36 weeks even though I'm 34 but she's not worried about it (maybe something to do with all the maternal padding but she was too polite to say that!) She's suggested/asked if I'd considered a home birth?! Oh damn I'd decided we'd sort something out on the childcare front and i'd go into hospital but now not sure!!!

Back from a Tesco run and my back, hips and legs are killing me!!!!
Managed to spend £60 (whoops!) mainly on junk... I know better than shopping when hungry and yet I did it anyway! DOH!!!!
*sigh* oh well - will just have to be extra good for the rest of the month I guess :) DO have loads if things in that can be made into meals very cheaply so it's not all bad...
If I had to I think I could live out of cupboards probably all month but no chance of getting hubby on board on that plan I fear :rotfl:
And in my ultra lazy moment I bought a pre-cooked hot chicken for dinner... my legs were like jelly by the time I made it to the deli section and I just thought "sod it!" :)
Also grabbed another of their £9 for main, side, pudding and wine offers - we can have that for dinner tomorrow I think... still have some chicken kievs from the last selection which we might have at the weekend... hmmmm

Oh and I think I had my first braxton hicks!!! Went to post some stuff to my friend who's serving in Afghanistan (boo hiss - want her back home!) and as I was stood there this horrible pain shot across my bump! weirdest thing but I'm pretty sure it was a BH...

I just added 1 to my basket - if you add 2 then it charges you for 2 (I tried it all the way up to when you enter card details just in case it applies the discount late...)

I just ordered one Clair, when I put 2 in the basket it didn't adjust the price so I'm assuming they'll just send 2 bottles...

Tine, I'm sticking to weekly internet shopping in an attempt to stop the random crap buying that we keep doing... Trouble is, it means commiting myself to meal plans... Don't know if I'm quite up to that kind of commitment at the moment...

Aimee's making me feel like a terrible mother... I've told her we're not going to her swimming lesson tonight... It's peeing it down and the wind is threatening to blow my front door in... Don't think that's the best weather to be trekking her to town in, then home again with wet hair... Plus she has a dodgy cough and runny nose, and I don't think either are good for swimming with....
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Dunno about anyone else but I thought BH's were just a tightening of the bump.

  • My whole labour with Jamie was recorded as 2hrs 7mins which is from my waters breaking and contractions starting to when the placenta was delivered. I had my second gel thingy at 4:30pm and was still not dilated and due to be checked again at 10:30pm. But my waters went on their own and he was born 2hrs later!

    xx
