Probably Sami;)
Glam I wish I had been a bit more elusive on when and where baby was going to be born!
AND I would love to go and see take that......to be honest the only reason I didn't book tickets for Manchester is because it is at LCCC, we went to see Radiohead there last year and I wasn't overly impressed with the ground or acoustics there!!
We are going to see Jean-Michel Jarre at MEN in May and OASIS in June at Heaton Park on the outskirts of Manchester.....I am SOooooooooexcited about this:)

My sis got 4 tickets and I had to lie to her at the time why I couldn't go
bubs will only be a few weeks onld then and I know I won't be up to it - esp if BFing
speaking of which if you watch the vid closely you will notice that when it goes dark gary isn't in it anymore, he was called away to be with his wife who went into labour :T
I've got youtube on in the background while I do my work and just happened to flick on the video for a minute or so - will look more closely next time.
One of the girls in work got 6 tickets and I bought 2 off her, she has now said that she might buy them back and sell them herself which would be better! I didn't even know when I bought mine!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea
Where does the time go? :think:0 -
Mel,
I'm sorry if my story worried you.
You've had 2 babies before, so your labour is much more likely to be manageable in a HB situation. Only 40% of first time mums who elect to HB end up doing the whole deed at home. Of other HB's the transfer rate is less than 5%.
This is because first labours are longer, and the woman has less understanding of what's coming and what her limits are. For me, and I wish I'd made this clearer in my story, sorry:D, it was the fear of what might come. In fact, I had reached the max intensity of the contractions, I just didn't know that I had.
About anyone thinking it's bad to change your mind, I certainly don't feel that's bad, I was changing my mind all the time as you can tell from my story. For what it's worth, I believe that if you will feel more comfy, more centered, more resourceful, more normal (whatever you need to feel) at home, then every extra minute at home will soothe you and bubs more, and make labour better and more positive. ;)Maybe you could start at home and see how you go? I wrote in my notes that I would like to labour at home for as long as all parties were completely comfortable with that decision.
Similarly, for a woman who really wants to be in hospital, I would want her to be in her safe place asap too.
Peth-wise, can the midwives not bring it? Or is there another quick way they know of to get some? From my experience loads of MWs are so pro-homebirth, I wonder if you rang the midwifery team and said you were thinking of needing to change your mind because of this, then I wonder if they might come up with a creative solution!
Anyhow, go with your own gut instincts and if anyone judges you, we'll all be round to wreak pregnant lady revenge on em!:D
Love Weezl x
Thank You Weezl...I amnot sure it worried me, more brought back the reality of it to me;) Maybe that's why, I know what to expect:D I suppose I could ask about the pethidine but even if I went to hospital I said I didn't really want it anyway.....I am confused, like Sami said, I need to sleep on it.
Thank you for your story Weezl I loved reading it (read it about 3 times:D)

anyone seen the new Take That video for Up All Night?! Bet they had a ball making it.
Am so gutted I can't go and see them in June in Manchester - we got standing tickets and I'll be about 28 weeks, probably not a good idea!
Anyone want 2 tickets? Oh - bit silly asking on here :rotfl:
I want tickets!!! I have a baby hawk... I'll just strap the baby to me... Nobody will notice if I wear a maternity top and big coat over the topA very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... It's odd because a HB has never been on my personal list of possibles
Apart from my house not being big enough in my eyes and a million other reasons - I live too far from hospital for comfort... it would take too long even in an ambulance if there were complications to get to the nearest A&E
Which in my view is a bad thing because in future I might want a home birth (like if we decide to have a number 2!) and living here that's just not going to be practicalDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

I swore that there was no way on earth I would still be in this house for #2 and guess what I'm still here!
I am not sure how I feel about HB but after having Chris I am much more comfortable about the idea, not sure if that is because I have given birth or because I have given birth and it wasn't anywhere near as bad as I had imagined :rotfl:
If you manage to pop roo out in a manner similar to me with Chris you may feel that the distance from hosp doesn't matter, but you won't know until roo is here, plus you may have moved house (possibly one of the tick list of requirements for new house will be near the maternity ward)

NMS - I did a bit on ur bum job but I personally couldn't manage to work so late in preg, I think AF has worked the furthest into preg (finished at 38wks) and she said it was really hard in those last couple of weeks her job was sit on bum at comp based too I think.
I personally think 4weeks is an ideal time to have before baby.
I finished 3 weeks before due date with no 1, less than a week before with no 2 (39 +2, if I remember correctly) and a month before with no 3 (but that's cos it was in teh run up to Xmas and we had just moved house and had lots of boxes still and I couldn't see any way of getting it all done unless I finished then!)I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
I would love a home birth... And I live close enough to the hospital that I could probably be blue lighted there quicker than they could transfer me from ward to ward... But I'm just not allowed...
And fwiw... I don't think any birth is a failure if the end result is a healthy baby and a healthy mother!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I think it doesn't help as one midwife said to me that ds2 was eaier birth because I had him close in age to ds1, whereas there has been a bit of a gap now so not to expect it to be that easy!!!!
Krystal I agree that no-one should feel like a failure, it's funny how many people still do though!
