Shell I'd go - at the end of the day I think seeing the anestitist is one appointment that WOULD be handy weight and BMI aside entirely... So unless it's a huge hassle to get there for it I'd go - infact I'd love if I got to see the anestetist before Roo is due - IF they are going to be putting me on any drugs I'd like to feel a little reassured that I liked them etcDFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -
Well that wasn't much use !!!!!! lol
I explained, and although the lady was lovely, I don't think she understood what I was saying. I explained that I'm only meant to have put on 13lbs since October (according to my weight in my notes and my weight now) and she said 'ooh you might be having a big baby'
!!!!!!?? It'd be an underweight one at those weights if they were right lol!
She said just to go in anyway so looks like I'll go along - it's just a pain though cos it's at 11am so a bit late for Steve to be hanging round from work to take me and I can't go on my own because I'll get lost!
Has anyone else been for one and if so, what happens?
I've had an epidural before so know what they are all about, but I mean at the assesment?Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
phew computer back to normal. started typing and all the letters were backwards, so made no sense whatsoever..
shell.. i'd go as i;m sure they'll look at your bmi properly there amd as mrs tine said at leats any questions you have/would have at time can be answered so you can fully understand all the risks involved'Children are not things to be moulded, but are people to be unfolded'0 -

I'm gonna go against the grain... As someone that's seen the aneasthetist... I wouldn't bother at all! She didn't talk to me about pain relief at all... She spent 5 mins talking to me about healthy eating (without asking me my eating habits) told me I should join weightwatchers after I've had the baby and that was it... It took me longer to get to the hospital on the bus than it did for her to look at me and make assumptions...
They can't refuse you an epidural just because you didn't go to the appointment (especially if you've had one before)A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

the weight they have me down as (I was weighed in October) means I have only gained 13lbs since then, which has GOT to be wrong!
Umm-it's possible - I've put on a lb in the last 4 weeks (bah!) - meaning I'm now 2lb lighter than when i got pg?:o(i'm 31+ weeks) Am hoping to basically stay the same for rest of pg if poss (no, I'm not dieting in any way shape or form!!)
What would BMI come out at with correct height? - is that enough to put you below 35? Not sure what else to suggest...

However I am planning for baby to be 9lbs and then everything else to weigh 8lbs... then loose loads once baby arrives by breast feeding, and going for walks in the park! Although I do realise this may not happen. :rolleyes:DS1 arrived 22/02/11! 8lb3oz

Thanks for the advice tickle will definately try that, I like to make sure the kids always get a good hot dinner in them, but DS is still having none of it. I tried him with soup at lunchtime and it was pointless.
Congrats on being 36 weeks sparkle, I cant wait till I can say that, it seems so far off to me being 21+2
Its only my opinion shellsuit, but if I dont want to go anywhere, then I just dont go. I have had an epidural twice and never seen anybody
Emlou absolutley loved your BS!!!
Hope time goes by quickly for everyone due for ML soon. The last time I took ML (in Sept 07) , I had such a great time with my new found freedom, I just knew I would never return to the workforce again, though I was in a very high pressure job at the time. (now self employed and sahm) :T
Im feeling in brilliant form today, have organised a small holiday starting on Monday till Saturday. We are going to England, beside Alton Towers and staying in a log cabin with Quarry walk.0 -

You can be my breastfeeding and baby walking buddy! My BMI is about 46 now, just creeping up. Perhaps that is due to the Ben & Jerries I am eating at the moment. I'm hoping to slim down a bit when I've had the baby, hence the nice pram and the plan to breastfeed. It can work - my Mum was at her slimmest after having kids!
The Anaesthetist told me I had a fat backand said that they might have difficulty when I'm in labour, and that I should think about opting for an early epidural.
Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0
