Sybil, just noticed you dont have a hairdryer, I have also attacked the big bits of ice with OH's best hammer
, once its done you should put some fabric conditioner on a cloth and wipe the inside of the freezer, apparantly it will stop the ice from sticking as much next time, a tip from the lovely Moliere, I would not put car stuff on your freezer, it might taint the food.
Back to work yesterday, not much OS acheived, although dinner tonight is chicken curry, and RTC treacle tarts and custard so back on track now.
DS saw me defrosting my chest freezer, sighed, went for a hammer, four strategically placed blows later, all the ice was in the bottom - job done! (He worked at McD's whilst getting his HND.) He can also deep clean a kitchen in half an hour! We are talking SCRUBBED. He will make someone a lovely wife! (Oh, he can cook and bake cakes too....) But he bats for my team, IYKWIM..;)0 -
A big Hi from a very happy bunny,
I have just ticked off everything on my list, DH cleaned the bathrooms and swept the kitchen floor. They weren't on the list so I added them so I could tick them off. Does anyone else do that or am I just a sadoh?
DGD is getting more beautiful as the days go by. :A DD2 had to have a jab because she is Rhesus Neg and the baby isn't. MWife was there when DH and I called in. MW praised the fact that I was doing all meals, washing, drying and ironing and fitting in some h/w for her. She asked if I would adopt her.I think she's about 15yrs old. Well, they look so young, like Drs.
(smug feeling alert)
Second load in wm as I had to strip DD & SiL2b's bedding, DD2's milk came through whilst she slept, strange how much can happen when she has slept for no longer than 2hrs at a time. Got bedding hanging on doors and rads.
Have just ironed 6 shirts, 3 trousers, baby stuff, and 4 pillowcases.
I'm going for a hot soak with a large glass of something but it wont be water.
SUNNYDAY, ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) hopr t/morrow is kinder to you.
KE7285 Welcome here, hope you enjoy our company. :hello:
CSARINA, Whatever the outcome it's NOT your fault.
Hope you all have a peacefull evening. x0 -
Evening peeps :hello:
Very late on here today, its been a busy sort of day, hmmm when isnt it???
We have been all over the place looking for a reasonably priced cooker, yeeesss I know I said I wasnt going to have a new one until next year when we do the kitchen, but the element OH got for the old one made no difference, its the cooker thats had its chips:rolleyes:
Lunch was smoked ham and salad sarnies with fruit for after.
We ate out for Dinner a bit early at 5.45 and it was lovely, lasagne and garlic bread for £2.99 at the local pub washed down with half a shandy....oooo my OH really knows how to push the boat out and spoil a girl:rolleyes: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Sunnyday - O good news about the job:T
csarina - wow you sure have been busy
justpeyton4now - I agree with steel the hotter the better with the oil, it helps puff them up

We spent a nice couple of hours with our DGS he sooo cute, the social worker went to see DS2 and DIL for the first check on LO and was really pleased that he had settled down happily and is eating and sleeping well.:D
She also said when the next panel comes up they should put in the adoption papers. :T
He sat on my lap for ages eating a biscuit and sort of sharing it with me, he leaned his head on my shoulder and drank his juice then gave me a great big sloppy wet kiss.ahhhh :happyhear
well time for a :coffee: then off to get some knitting finished, enjoy the rest of your evening everyone and (((hugs))) all round

Would deicer for a car work? There is a lot of ice, I think the ice up must have been worse than I thought.
Hope everything is going well for you, LoopyLinz, as isn't today the big day? Good luck!!!0 -

It's the best feeling ever.
Thank you for all the tips. I think I have some fabric conditioner somewhere - does white vinegar work as well :rotfl:Also would furniture polish do it?
When I next buy a freezer (about 20 years time I hope) I shall spend the extra and get self defrosting!
Hugs to allAnkh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
I use a steam cleaner, its the most fantastic thing it zaps ice in seconds, however you cant see much because of the steam :rotfl:
Still getting the courage up to use mine (free as part of a special offer - I haven't used the catalogue itself for over two years and the special offer was one of the first things I got :rotfl::rotfl:) But I shall investigate...Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -
SUNNYDAY - congratulations :j :j :j
KAZZAW - go you on the Wii fit!!!! Great result.
BETH - if I do anything that's not on the list it goes on to be crossed off!! On bad days, even getting up in a timely fashion and showering goes on there :rotfl:
PIPPA - awwwww ....what a sweetie!
Well...dinner was a success.....the rice was fabulous done in the steamer, much better than I could do on the stove. Was shocked to see strange oval brown things in the food...took me ages to realise it was the dried fruit rehydrated into grapes.:rotfl: Next time I think the juice needs to be much thicker and a bit spicier.
Took readings on the gas tonight and used only a third of the gas in the last 24 hours than I would have done in the past according to my average daily calculations. :j Taken electric readings and I'll see how the that stacks up over the next few days.
Have a fab evening everyone. Ebay for me for the next hour - now up to £240 pounds made on clutter since the end of January. :T"carpe that diem"0 -
OOohhh STEEL, Hadn't thought of doing that. Now my lists are gonna be so much more interesting
and longer :rotfl:0 -
Evening everyone.
Thanks for the messages christabell and justpeyton4now. I am going to try to save any little extras and try to get one of those slow cookers.
Diva I will keep looking on Freecycle but no luck so far!
Ivyleaf - thanks for the advice re the muffins. I did make some but they weren't brilliant. Didn't rise too high but were edible and have all gone already so can't have tasted too bad. Lemon drizzle cake good though and hobnobs good also, so I will just keep practicing with the muffins.
Have spent all evening comparing quotes for car insurance. Managed to beat existing insurers by about £80 and should get some vouchers back eventually so if I don't manage to get a bread maker before then I could perhaps get one with the vouchers! Good evenings work then really.
Had bolognaise for tea - really nice and managed to freeze some extra too. Feeling very virtuous at the moment.
Hope everyone had a good day - back to work again for me tomorrow. I have enjoyed my day off today!!! :cheesy:"Keep smiling, it makes people wonder what you are up to........"Dieting ........... is no piece of cake!!!!:D
Weight loss since January 2011 - 5st 5 lbs!!!!!0
