Afternoon peeps
sorry that i`ve been missing for a while but i managed to let everything get on top of methe most i`ve managed is a few random posts here and there and on the greenfingered board. I`ve been trying to ignore real life as much as possible and escape into my own little world where sleep is difficult and stress seems to take over, i have a huge rash all over my torso from the worry..............However -
Good news! i`ve had my briefing and i still have a job :j :j :j
I was getting myself in a tizzy as my wage pays most things since DH lost his job last year. I do know that future changes could reverse this decision but for the time being i feel as if a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders. I need sleep desperately but i just wanted to share the good news with all my friends before collapsing.
Have a good afternoon everyone, i shall catch up properly later.
SDPlanning on starting the GC again soon0 -
Snowy - :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: at the cats! I do miss mine - mind you, I dont' miss the litter tray!
sistercas - Glad to hear your DH is feeling better!
HockeyDuo - Glad all went so efficiently at the bank!
KE7285 -Welcome to the thread. I expect your doggie is a lot more comfy now! TBH I'd thought it was only male dogs that had that problem - so we live and learn
We went to IKEA this morning. I thought we were going for a neck cushion for me, and maybe to look at prices of computer chairs - DS desperately needs a new one, his is falling to pieces. Anyway, unbeknown to me, DH got busy measuring in the living room last night after I'd gone to bed, so we got;
a neck cushion for me
a neck cushion for DH (not sure how he thinks he's going to use it, as his chair isn't against the wall, and the sofa where he sits to watch TV has a high back)
a small bookcase/CD rack
a tall bookcase/CD rack
a new chair for DS which will give his back plenty of support. Dh is currently getting the box containing the chair up the stairs as it's too in the way in the hall, and he's whistling in a carefree manner so that I won't rush out and tell him off for doing it on his own0 -
SunnyDay, so glad to hear your news about your job! What a horrible stressful time for you. I hope the rash will clear up now (((HUGS)))0

Well, I've written my nice letter to her solicitor. But does anyone know if will they charge her for recieving it if I send it? I don't want to cause her costs
If I enclose a SAE with it so they can forward it to her would that help? *sigh*
I've worked as a legal secretary...
Every time they open a file, take a call or read a letter, it is added to the bill. That is EVERY time. The solicitors I worked for were one of the best, but they charged in six minute increments. So if they only spent one minute looking at something, you would still get charged the six minutes. Some solicitors are less charitable.
Also, her costs are not your responsibility, any more than her being an idiot. She may have a fixed fee agreement, she may have legal aid, she may have budgeted for being a marred b*tch. You need to make sure that you don't get stung for costs, also perhaps ask for a free half hour interview with solicitors, any legal help through work, union etc.
hth. At least the end of the voodoo is in sight.
I am not getting very far with food rescue plan - I can't find the fridge defroster that I paid for so I am doing it the old fashioned way squirting hot water at the chunks of ice and putting bowls of hot water inside. At least I remembered to turn the dratted thing off. And until the freezer is defrosted there is not much point in putting more in... Hey ho!
Sunnyday - really happy for you!
Snowy - I still remember the look of appalled horror when the other cats that possessed us then first saw evil cat. It was a wonderful sight.

Wannabe sybil, probably not very MSE or maybe not the safest method but I once defrosted out freezer with my hairdryer. Lol. Didn't actually put the hairdryer in the freezer, just kinda sat at the freezer door at aimed it in! Was done in no time!!Its hard to wait around for that something you know may never happen, but its harder to give up when you know its everything you ever wanted.........
People tell me Im going the wrong way..............when its simply a way of my own!0 -

That's the way I've always done it, however (and I am sick of these howevers) I don't currently have a hairdryer. Thinking of investing in the least expensive I can find, just for defrosting.
Would deicer for a car work? There is a lot of ice, I think the ice up must have been worse than I thought.
Hope everything is going well for you, LoopyLinz, as isn't today the big day? Good luck!!!Ankh Morpork Sunshine Sanctuary for Sick Dragons - don't let my flame go out!0 -

I have done this too, its probably not very safe at all, but gets the job done.
Sybil, just noticed you dont have a hairdryer, I have also attacked the big bits of ice with OH's best hammer, once its done you should put some fabric conditioner on a cloth and wipe the inside of the freezer, apparantly it will stop the ice from sticking as much next time, a tip from the lovely Moliere, I would not put car stuff on your freezer, it might taint the food.
Kazzaw, I have been on the Wii fit too, I love it, I have lost 1 lb this week, just done another 40 mins :T
Sunnyday, good news re your job xx
Hugs to all in need off to soak in a hot bath xx0
