Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 12th March. This is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly, but if not, it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Daily Threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good!

Morning all,
I woke at 3am due to brain working overtime, making mental lists of things to do before DM gets here on Saturday.
To Do for us:-
Tidy our bedroom, vacume and polish it.
Finish ironing.
Make cottage pie and veg for our dinner.
Bake bread and make soup.
Buy and wrap Mother's day pressie. (Sainsbugs are doing Thorntons chocs and a bottle of Cava for £10, sorted)
Plan and shop for ingredients for w/end meals.
To Do for DD and SiL2b :-
Make stuffed chick breasts, jacket pots and salad for their dinner.
Make omlettes for DD2/SiL2b for lunch.
Take their stuff to re-cycle, bins weren't put out last night.
Collect prescription and take to chemist.
Return parcel to Mothercare.
I'm sure I've forgotten more than I have remembered.
PEYTON, I hope DD is better and will be home today.
CELYN, Stick by your principles, hope it goes ok.
TIRED MUM, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOUR DD. _party_ _party_

Morning all!
Well I woke up at 8 instead of 6 today  I don't have classes until 10 but I just wanted to get stuff done before uni. Ah well, must have needed it!
Almost had a disaster with the SC yesterday. Got back late from rehearsals last night and all the water had been soaked up:eek: Got to it just in time though - phew! Never put rice in a stew before and I should have twigged it'd need more water than usual. Lesson learned!!
Things to do today:- two classes - lyric writing, which is one of my favourites:D
- more line learning and rehearsals for 'Eleemosynary'
- singing practice
- Go for a walk - or maybe even head to the gym if I have time!!
(((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))) to anybody who needs one. Thanks for the support yesterday, it really cheered me up. I've had a couple of good nights' sleep and I'm much happier at the moment. :T

Hi all,
best of luck with your job interview moggins
christabell - :rotfl: glad it's not just me. Quite often I get suprise "oh, did I order that" packages through the post
WS - sorry to hear little bear had a bad night - hope you both manage to get some rest today.
Happy birthday to tiredmums DD
Well, they leave today - one last lunch with them and then they are off and I can relax a bit. I am shattered.
Made up a little pamper hamper for a friend of mine (nothing flash, just some little bits from boots and some chocolate) and left it on her desk last night as she was having a rough day yesterday.
Well, OH was right and his acknowledgement of service turned up from his solicitor. I can expect one too apparently, but no sign yet. His solicitor just wants us to capitulate, despite the untruths, and fight the costs order. I don't know TBH. I think I will write a letter to her solicitor today asking what they want and hope to achieve - I hope it will show that I am co-operative, willing to negotiate and a very reasonable person. I doubt they will respond TBH, but at least I will have offered an olive branch and that alone will make me feel betterI don't know what goes through the mind of some people TBH; but I hope she finds some calm in the future and doesn't spend the rest of her life fighting anything and everything for the sake of conflict. I think it's really sad that some people seem to thrive on that
I doubt I can make it gentle, but I will try.
We are going out to dinner tonight. OH doesn't know this yet
OS-wise I will need to tidy the flat tonight as it's a bit of a mess, but to be honest, I think I just need some sleep firstI keep meaning to try making some laundry gloop, but I haven't got round to it yet. I need to phone the garage and have a to-do list a mile long, but most of it will have to wait until I am not sleep-walking.
Have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Wellllll, no fixed appts today, but really hoping to do lots and lots.
We are having a celebration of our success at chorus tonight and my section is required to take fingerfood of the savoury variety. I thought some really mini breadrolls made into what we call 'party bread' ie. cut into small pieces then cooked really close together sothey say nice and soft. tear it apart then. Might do some red pepper hummus then I can have some for lunch. easy and cheap. Dough just beeped, but will leave a bit longer I think.
Cleaning to do, downstairs needs vaccing, most of laundry sorted yesterday. Some paperwork also. Want to bake some stuff as ds has 'Les Mis' production at school, so will be taking extra pack ups. A bit of variety. He is doing Mon night, Wed-Sat nights and matinee on Tuesday. A heck of a week. Dress and technical is all day today till about 10 tonight.
Will put the computer on scans and defrags etc today to get me away for a while LOL!
Hope you all have a good day."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
