    Hi Fezer,

Do you have broadband with TalkTalk? If so you will need to change to the myTalkTalk package to get free 0870/0845 calls. With this packgae the calls would be free of an evening and weekend unless you take the anytime calls boost.

    Cheers

    Hi
Yes I do have broadband, with the new package I would need to pay an extra £4 boost, I have just seen to get anytime calls. So this would be more expensive than my current Talk 3 at £8.99 month plus line rental to talktalk. It seems existing customers always loose out with talktalk. Maybe worth a trip back to BT after 6 years with talktalk

Thanks em, I am on Talk 3, so do these other changes affect me other than the the extra line rental charges? I have since found the answer to this in an earlier post. I will be better off staying on the my 3 tarriff as I make very few calls to 0845/0870 certainly not £4 a months worth, as I use 'say no to 0870' and can find alternative landline numbers for most of these type of calls.

    Hi Guys,

Millie, you will be able to see what plan you are on from your bills. There will be line rental charges, call charges and tariff charges listed. If you are being charged around £19 per month my bet would be you are on Talk 3 or Talk UK Anytime.

    Carmine,

Any customers currently on myTalkTalk will continue to get the international calls as part of their myTalkTalk Essentials plan. Customers who take myTalkTalk Essentials after 2nd June either as a new customer or an existing customer moving package will no longer get the international calls as part of the tariff. Any existing customers will not loose the international calls after this date though. If a customer taking myTalkTalk Essentials after 2nd June wants free international calls to 36 countries then they will be able to purchase a boost for around £2 to allow them to make these calls.

    Cheers

Aaahhh, thanks...it's clearer now (I think). So, that's another price increase? ;)

If you have to pay for them how can they be classed as free ?
  • Have just got off the phone from Talk Talk call centre who are trying to get me to switch from BT. I was told specifically that the 0871 number I use to call Madagascar mobiles (10 min via BT plus connection) would be included in the free calls to 0845 0870 numbers as from June 1st. This seems to contradict the terms quoted in the first post in this thread!

Can the Talk Talk rep enlighten me?
  • Just tried to get an answer to my previous post on the TT website all my search came up with was "our technical broadband assistance line on 0871 226 7146 charged at 10p a minute from TalkTalk lines".

So I guess if they charge 10p a minute for their own 0871 number they will not be giving other access numbers for free!!

They are annoying me now as they appear to be lying in order to get me to switch. Shock, horror!!!!!!!!!!

I am inclined to stick with BT for my line then use access numbers to minimise cost of any day time calls.
  • AFAIK no company offers inclusive 0844/0871 numbers. Treat any company claiming otherwise in an apparent attempt to entice you to join with extreme scepticism...

Their definitely not included but even if they were i would imagine that like BT for 0845/0870, calls to Intl Access Numbers would be chargeable and their would also be a fair use policy.
