Hi everyone!
Has gone very quiet on here - how's everyone doing?
I did a fair last Saturday, not great but sold some stuff, covered my costs and made a small profit so can't complain. Only a few orders so far this week so need to get motivated and get some events booked.
Hope everyone's keeping busy.

I am attending a toddler group tomorrow and next Friday.
I have also had some leads from using the freepost cards, although nobody has signed on the dotted line yet!
I also placed an advert in the window of a local newsagent (the one from the downloads section with the lady ironing) to try and attract potential Trader's, so will have to wait and see if that is a successful advertising method.
It has been a good couple of weeks since anyone contacted me with an order though.Thank you to all OPs

Ive got my first toddler group on monday and looking forward to it but a bit nervous! I was thinking of taing mainly childrens cards with a few for the mums. Has any one got any orders from a toddler group? hoping some mums will take a catalogue and I will then go but in a weeks time to collect any orders. Has anyone got any advice regarding toddler groups?0

Hi bluebutterfly
Great news on your first toddler group! Personally I would take all the stock you have - you never know what people will want!
Hope it goes really well for you - good luck.

Well done :T
Whilst you are there it is good to bear in mind that it is not just a selling opportunity. A toddler group is a good source to obtain names and addresses for your mailing list, as well as a good recruitment opportunity - if you can strike up a conversation with a buyer, ask if they 'know anyone' who may be interested in becoming a PT.
Yes often mum's take a brochure and place an order afterwards.Thank you to all OPs

Thank you sunshine girl and skeeter for the advice will let you know how I get on!:j Also I have a few more people/groups who I can contact regarding selling my cards but after having a lady being a bit rude to me last week on the phone I've lost my confidence In calling people. Could you tell me the sort of things you say when you contact someone on the phone? My sponsor focuses on parties and hasnt really contacted any groups so can't really offer advice. Guess I just want to make sure I say the right thing without waffling like I do when I'm nervous!0

Why not write down what you are going to say beforehand so you've got something to refer to if you feel nervous? Try and keep it fairly brief, an introduction, your request to visit and then hopefully - if they sound receptive - a short discussion re a date and time. Try and forget about the one negative call - she was probably just stressed or in a rush and will no doubt regret missing out on the opportunity to see your lovely cards! Good luck and let us know how it goes - sounds like you are doing lots of positive stuff.0 -
Hi ladies, good to see the thread busy!
I am having my launch party next week and wanted to ask for any tips, things that have worked well for you, things I may have forgotten, not thought of...
So, I have planned:
cards, catalogues, folders, order forms and pens at the ready!
cake, chocs, tea and coffee (juice too, just in case)
I've got about 6 nice baskets, a couple of bigger ones and I've ordered a stand....any tips on presentation?
small change
Ummmm, that's it!
What have I missed?
It's an open day so people will be popping in at various times, and I'm not sure how to deal with this....I want to tell them about the company and the fab business opportunity, but don't want to have to repeat myself twenty times! Any ideas?
Hope you are all having a good week, PT and otherwise

Hi Liveandlearn
Great news on your launch party next week - you sound very organised, hope its a great success! Do you have any of the Phoenix bags for people to take home their purchases? I think I got some with my business kit so hopefully you will have some too.
Re telling people about the great business opportunity etc, why not print off some brief details for people to look at and maybe make up some introductory packs for anyone interested. I'm sure there's a post on here (or maybe on the old thread) where someone makes up a small recruitment pack in a cello with a note saying "I'm always looking for people to join my team". Hope that helps.
Anyway good luck and let us know how it goes.0 -
How are we all getting on?
A lady contacted me this morning and asked me to attend a Summer Fete (one of my clients gave her my details). She has a friend who is a PT who usually attends, although she is unavailable on the given date which is why she asked me.
I hope this was not an April Fool's!Thank you to all OPs
