Why not so keen on toddler groups skeeter?

Due to long term-illness, I find it very exhausting loading/unloading the car with stock etc.

Me and kids don't mix either :o
:) Thank you to all OPs :)
  • Many thanks for your honest reply Skeeter - sorry if my question was too personal.

Guess the beauty of Phoenix is the flexibility - we can pick and choose where and how we sell, according to personal choice.

    Thank you.
  • Errrr, not sure what that last post was about????

Grrrrrrr! Why have PT gone and locked the other thread? Has anyone heard anything official about it? I honestly can't see what has been said that could have transgressed the rules. Like a lot of the other newbies, and maybe some of the oder members too, I found it really useful being able to pick your brains. As one of the other ladies has said, we're not all lucky enough to have a local upline, and even though the lady whose team I'm in is lovely, I don't want to be bothering her with tons of phone calls all the time, poor woman. And yes, I know that's what she's there for, but there are limits! Also, I have found it really helpful reading other people's questions, and the answers they get, as they are not always questions I would have asked myself, if you see what I mean.
I don't dare contact PT and ask them to reinstate the other thread as I've only just joined, but maybe one of the ET could put a word in?
I do wonder if it isn't because of unsollicited PMs??? I know they are rife on some parenting sites which I won't mention, but I don't think that's the case here. I didn't get any at all when I first joined asking for info about what it's like to work with PT, and the only ones I have received have been words of encouragement. I think it's a real shame if that is the case :( None of this would happen if PT set up their own forum.....I'm sure I read somewhere that they are working on this, anyone have any insider info?

Right, now I've got that off my chest!

Lalaladybird, glad to hear things are picking up! And thank goodness you started this thread.....let's hope this one doesn't get pulled too!

Actually came on here for some inspiration as feeling very lazy today ;) All I've done is write a BIG list of things to do...but I have done the shopping, loads of washing and housework, so I suppose that's OK!

I would never risk my entitlement to 'trade' as a PT by trying to recruit/sell Phoenix items by PM.

It does seem strange that Phoenix consented to the discussion on the forum, only to later ask for the thread to be closed. I think we all remained within the rules.

  • GOT MY FIRST ORDER!!!!!!!!

Just wanted to let the whole world know (or at least you ladies on here!) It was from one of the teachers at my son's school who ordered ten cards and was very tempted by the weather tree poster for 'the next order', so hopefully she will rave about the products in the staffroom!! I'm picking up my first folder the day after tomorrow from the school I used to work in, hopefully with some more orders, then along with the one I finished doing yesterday will take them to two new schools...I think I'm going to invest in a couple more folders and extra samples. Anyone else sell mainly from folders this way? Would love to hear about it :)

Also, my upline has convinced me to have an open day, actually I'm going to have two: a weekday morning for the sahm and retired neighbours, and a Saturday for everyone else (have managed to persuade dh to occupy the kids elsewhere for the whole day!) How many people would you advise me to invite? I thought about popping a note through the letter box of all the houses in my street -there are about 50 - inviting people, or offering to give them a catalogue if they can't make it (most probably won't come as I don't even know them to say hello to), as well as friends and mums from school, church. Is this too many? Also, I thought it might be better to have a bit of stock in for the day, so far have whittled it down to just over 200 cards, plus about ten packs of postcards, the giftwrap that comes with matching cards and all the statioery packs. Does this sound about right? Too much? Not enough?

Going back to my first order, I thought about throwing in a freebie, not necessarily a card, maybe a postcard or a bookmark as a 'thank you'. Do you ladies do this? I thought it might be a nice incentive to buy again...???

Another question: have you had any success with the pre-paid recruiting postcards? I got a bundle in my starter kit so wil use them, but wondered if it is worth buying any more?

PT, please, please don't pull this thread!

    Thanks, ladies :)

:jWell done getting your first order:j

If you give a free bookmark with the order and that lady tells the others in the staffroom that she got a freebie then you'll have to give the people she tells a freebie. She might always expect a freebie...bear that in mind.

I think you would have a lot of success having an open day but aren't you scared having strangers in your home? I'd be terrified I put an invitation through the door of someone dodgy. If you end up with 20 strangers in your home, how do you stop someone from wandering off round your house? Maybe a garden party would be safer??? I haven't tried an open day but I'd only invite people I know if I do.
  • Well done L&L! How exciting! It's good that you sold your order from the folders, I left mine in the school staffroom too - but with a basket of cards for more impulse buying.

The launch party sounds like a good idea - bribe people with the promise of cakes! I don't imagine you can ever have too much stock for such an event. As someone mentioned on the other thread, you could display cello packs of gift wrap, tag and matching card with a sticker on saying "Take me home free when you book a party or coffee morning".

As far as the freebie goes, work out your costs. Are you goingto do it as standard practice or just because this lady is your first order?

Re postcards - my pack only arrived on Saturday so it's a bit early to tell!!!!

PS - I GOT MY FIRST TODDLER GROUP BOOKING!!!! Woohoo!!!
I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!
