  • Oh Yes, the little one, good ole fairs and markets!! We do them a lot, been a trader for over 12 months and done everything from a cr*ppy little village hall to a 500,000 visitor event billed as in top 5 largest attraction, so we know everything there is to know!! (LOL) So why can't we make it pay!!
The best is the place where you get customers who are supporting the event or group, they have to be prepared to spend money and be loyal to the cause. We are getting to know a bit more about it now, and there are some very subtle differences, as to whether it will pay or not. And by pay, we just mean cover the cost of the stand, out of Gross profit, nothing about cost of getting there, time or bonus payments on stock ordered. Dont forget if you pay £40,00 for a stall you have to sell about £120.00 just to get your fee back.

Good luck and if you want any more help just ask us, or your upline ET, although we have found that not many of them pursue the stalls/ fairs route. We do!! Even spent £200 on a proper market stall!!

  • If not many ET's go down the stalls/fairs route, they obviously think that coffee and cards and parties are the more lucrative way to go?

Plus you've also not got the hassles of being out in the pouring rain, and having to have your car towed out of the mud by a husband driving a 4X4, who is trying very hard not to laugh at you!!

There has been quite a learning curve for me since I started doing Phoenix, I thought somewhat naievly (not sure if thats how you spell it) that it was going to be a doddle, and for some people it seems to be, they fall on their feet and get going really easily, or so they say at trader meetings!! And then there are folk like me out there, getting stuck in the mud, and not even covering the cost of the day.

But I'm still here, plodding on and hoping that it'll all improve, good job I've got a sense of humour.

  • I've not done any events where I've had to pay for a stall yet, although I've just booked to go to a Christmas craft fair in early November as a fundraiser for a village pre-school. The fee is £15, the same as I charge stallholders to come to our school fair (I'm chair of the pta), and I personally wouldn't risk paying any more than that. I'd far rather go to toddler groups and give them a donation of 10% of my sales.
I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!
  • Had a delivery today including new limited edition cards - they are gorgeous! I am really pleased I ordered a load, if they don't sell (unlikely)!, I will keep them all for myself- ha! Pleased with paper chains too :-)
  • Just wanted to check in with everyone here... I posted back in July about joining PT with my friend. Well we took the plunge and are just loving it. Our first month we cleared our 125PV and last month we made our 825PV! We have worked hard but with little children, we can work it around them flexibly. I've met loads of new people in my neighbourhood from doing brochure drops and we have a Butterfly Tea Party planned for 12th. We have made back our initial investment and look forward to making more!

I would say that the best advice I've got is from this forum... you do need to treat it as a business not a job. It takes time to build it and can be frustating to spend a lot of time doing something for no apparent gain. However, for us it has been great so far - and working as a team has been great too - although we have to split the profits, when one of us is feeling a bit fown, inevitable the other is feeling enthusiatic!
  • You put me to shame troy775, only been in the business for a short time, and look how well you're doing. Good on you, keep posting on here, you'll hopefully inspire the likes of me.

  • I go away for a week and this dropped to page 7!

Just had commission statement for last month - nice :D
Also just had another lead through and put a £125 in this morning, although must try harder to clear this Christmas stock! Why do people never order the things you have in stock!!
    Hope everyone's doing well x
Trying to earn some extra cash, just in case :undecided
  • I have found the Buterfly tea parties are really boosting my sales this month. Have you many booked in?

  • I've bought lots of xmas stock, and am feeling a bit worried about how it will go. Is it too much or will I need more... It's my first xmas doing this.
