  • Thanks Allicouldwish for, great advice. Well done your upline for persevering on the 200 brochure drop - that's a lot of walking!

Feeling really upbeat as local community mag has put a bit in about butterfly tea party! Got a call today for a brochure from someone who's lost touch with their trader, and my upline got a call from a care home (she knows the manager from school gates) about holding a sale there with all the families invited along. Also hoping that it will prompt those who promise orders to do something about it ;-).

Starfish, I've offered 10% of sales which i put on a comp slip saying will donate for all orders in sept. And of course to phone if they want to do a party. Good to mention all christmas cards sold for charity too.

Sorry about the nursery fair, I've had ones like that too but once people get to know you have found sales increase. I must admit most of what i do i donate 10% to groups but think will be an investment as kids aren't at toddlers forever.. Also trying to get fundraisers with schools but not followed any of them up yet. Best toddler group I've done was with going in the week before for 10 mins with a handful of cards - went round saying will be here net week and people did actually remember and brought money. A few ladies also bought on the spot. I'm due back there october so will do the same (hope it works again!).

I've also got some summer brochures, but think they will end up in recycling. I'm always stunned by how many people are starting to think about christmas this early. I used to be a strictly 1st December person before I even contemplated it. now August!??

Great to hear everyones tips and suggestions, makes me more motivated :-). Thanks all!
  • In order to reach my target, I am planning to:
    · donate 10% of all tea party sales
    · make cupcakes to sell for a "suggested donation" of 50p each
    · have a special basket of 50 butterfly cards, for which I will donate 30p per card sold (£15.00 in total)
    · have a "guess the weight of the cake" competition (also good for getting people's contact details)
I've also said that if people aren't able to hold an event in their homes then I can prepare a basket of cards for them to sell to family, friends and colleagues.

As Clydeside said, I donate also 10% of toddler group sales back to the group, I give people a brochure as they arrive and I also make sure everyone leaves with a brochure. I make up posters and flyers and send them to the toddler group leader with a few brochures two weeks before I'm due to visit. I normally get sales and orders of around £100 at a toddler group, although I've had some where I've only done £30, so you never can tell.

Clydeside, that's great about the publicity for your butterfly tea party.

  • I put in a big order today and couldn't believe that one of the Christmas giftwraps are out of stock already. And the gold labels! Do you think that is them completely finished now? At the beginning of September? I know they said they were limited, but that seems ridiculously quick.
  • Wow that is quick - which one was out of stock....

Red with gold stars is out of stock, I suppose unless there's been a batch labelled wrongly, that'll be the end of that.

They've got problems with the gold and silver tags which was mentioned in one of the newsletters, hopefully it's a temporary thing, I could do with ordering those to go with the end of stock roll wrap.

  • Hello:)

I have been AWOL for several months, busy with one thing and another, one of them being Phoenix, but now the kids are back at school (tomorrow!!!) I'm gearing up for some serious selling!

I ordered the smallest Xmas pack with it being my first Phoenix Christmas and also the fact that I live in France and my customers are mainly French, not sure what they're going to like/buy...

Have a few in-compay events over the next couple of weeks, one big craft fair in October and a couple of coffee and cards lined up, but am hoping to do brochure drops in companies, also get rid of my excess summer supplements through doors too.

Look forward to hearing how you're all getting on,

    LandL
  • Butterfly Tea Party.

I had my first event this morning, and it was a great success. Everyone loved the cards, and I had a copy of the CHUK2 laminated, and I have taken orders from that. Considering it is only a small village that I live in, I raised £20.00 from sales, and a further £45.00 was given in donations, so a total of £65.00.

Not a bad start. Hope you all have as much success.

:) Thank you to all OPs :)
  • I have another question! (sorry everyone)

How much do you think is reasonable to pay for a trade stand at a christmas fair / market?
I have been making enquiries and had a few quotes back, obviously the busier markets are worth going to but they tend to charge more so from your experience what would be best? Smaller and cheaper with less sold or push the boat out and try for a biggie?
    Thanks in advance!
