I've read all of the tips on here with lots of interest. i've been a trader for a while but have only really captured my really large office, never much beyond. Tonight is my first step outside the office, it is an arranged fundraiser but I'm going to pop the catalogues on seats and have a basket of cards with me. Fingers crossed I get some orders! Thanks for the advice Martin! :money:Member no. 920 - Proud to be dealing with our debts0

Hi Everyone
I have just signed up to become a trader and my business pack should be here on Monday ( would have been earlier if it wasn't for postal strikes!). I just wanted to say a big thankyou for all the tips and stories it has really helped to give me ideas and I am really looking forward to starting.
I have my first party booked for next week and I just plan to give out as many brochures as possibe to get me started. I have a Christmas fair booked at my sons school for late November and have a couple of smaller parties booked for the end of Oct. I will let you know how I get on.

Good luck Sarah!
On a different topic - I've read that Phoenix says that no internet promotion will be allowed. I work closely with a charity who wants to promote the fact they have catalogues to their supporters, they use online marketing. Would this be allowed? Thanks for the advice Martin! :money:Member no. 920 - Proud to be dealing with our debts0 -

I think that you would need to run this past head office before going ahead. The use of the internet in our business is changing next year - see the last page of the latest newsletter for initial advice, but it is by no means clear yet exactly what will be within the rules.

Oh my goodness, you would not believe the fabulous weekend I have had!
Last night I had a butterfly party in someone's house (quite a posh area and obviously a very popular host) and sold over £800 of goods. I was astounded.
Then this morning held another at the community centre, catching all the bored mum's while their kids were at dance lessons and sold £170. Probably never have a weekend like it again, but thrilled to bits about it!0 -
