Easy answer - one router per phone socket. Its a great product, works well, slightly tricky to set up though. Go for it.

Thanks for the answer Caz.
Since I got no reply to my query I emailed orchid and they say that one dialler is sufficient. I would gladly buy more than one if that was required.0 -

It depends on your phone system. If you cordless dect phones, one dialler immediately in front of the base station will do. However if you have ordinary phones you will need a dialler with each.0 -
Thank you Jem. I have the cordless phones.
However,I am with Primus at night and weekends, 1899 through the day and support said I should get Orchid V4 plus. I don't have ordinary phones so I'm a bit confused.
Thank you for your reply.0 -
Yes the Orchid V4 is what I have and I use 1899 for daytime and Primus for evening & weekend.
You need the V4 as opposed to the V2 as you will be routing to different places according to the time of day. When you order ask Orchid to set it up for 1899 during daytime and Primus for evening & weekend. Remember to tell them that Primus' evening ends at 8am and not 6am like BT. You could also ask them to route 0845/0870 numbers through BT if you want.0 -

I am so grateful to yourself and Caz for answering my questions as I really haven't a clue. I am particularly grateful for this very comprehensive reply and I have copied it so that I shall remember what to do when I order my dialler tomorrow.
Thanks again.0 -

Update: In order to get the 20% discount they need to register on the website, and enter discount code "3" when promted. https://www.orchid-electronics.com.
This is an excusive deal to Moneysavingexpert.
MoneySavers can get information on our Diallers at https://www.orchid-electronics.com.
The Orderline is 01536 443677
Placed an order this morning for a triple pack DECT phone and a VOIP handset.
Entered the code but did not see the 20% discount! I have emailed Orchid to request it....“When I was a boy of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around.
But when I got to be twenty one, I was astonished at how much he had learned in seven years.”

Nicholas wrote:Not exactly on topic, but I had a problem with my V4 Orchid dialler this afternoon. I was trying to ring a number that was constantly engaged, and if I did not give the dialler a few seconds between each attempt it would fail to route my call.
Seems to be working fine now BTW, its only when repeatedly attempting to dial the same number too quickly.
Dialler is still doing it. As no-one has confirmed my suspicions one way or the other, I have just e-mailled Orchid for their advice.0 -

Update: Just when I was starting to wonder why Orchid had not e-mailled me back, but a brand new shiny dialler was delivered this morning by recorded delivery and an stamped addressed envelope to return the old dialler in.
New dialler appears to be working OK. It's one of the newer V4+ models.
Unbeatable customer service!!!:j  :T :A0 -
So let me get this straight, we have digital phone, only one is plugged into a phone socket, so I guess I only need one dialler. Also am I correct in thinking that I do not have to enter the area code for local numbers just as it is now, just area codes for out of area.£2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far
+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.
Terramundi weighs 8lb 5oz0
