To make sure that the dialler does not call home when you dont want it to, log in to CW Client and find your product, then ensure that the Managed box is not checked, if it is uncheck it.
To manually reset the managed box, pick up and dial:

Is anybody else having problems logging on to Orchid server.
At the moment I'm unable to launch CWClient?
I've had no problems in the past0 -

This is not an attack on Orchid before anyone thinks it is, but a question I have that no one seems to have asked in the past.
Yes, I know it's possible to program the dialler without the CWclient, but if one opts to use the CWclient software, why has it got to go though Orchid's servers and then for the dialer to `call home` to get it's settings?
It's a rather odd design.0 -

The way it works is that you use the CW Client on your PC to connect to their server where you save your dial up tables.
Your dialer then 'calls home' to the server, identifies your table and then downloads the data to your dialer.
There is no means of connecting the dialler to your PC, and it normally works perfectly well (except now, when their server seems to be down)0 -
Wouldn't it be an idea to have a dedicated thread where Orchid questions & answers can be posted then it will be easier to locate for future reference.
I have certainly found a lot of info on this thread very helpful but initially found it only by accident as the thread only refers to a discount...0 -

Good point about the thread being just chat for the discount so I'll end it with one more comment. There should be a program that allows the dialler to be also programmed by sending DTMF tones down the line, but not manually. This could be achieved by just using any Hayes compatible modem.
If I ever get one of these dialers I may try write a program that would allow programming the dialer with a modem without having to use the CWclient or Orchid's servers.0 -

That may be a good idea. At present I would not advise anyone to buy a V4 dialler. First of all when I bought it a few weeks ago, I had trouble dialling home because "the server was down".
Now I want to alter my settings, and since last Friday I have not managed to access the CW client. Seems to be down all the time.
Hope the company is not going down the drain. Unless they sort their problems out, it will be one of the worst investments I have ever made.:mad:0
