I have a shower about every other day but I only need to wash my hair (which is also long and thick) about every 3 or 4 days as it is as dry as a bone. My children have a bath about every 3 days too but not on the same days.

We don't have a shower and our bath takes forever to run so it's a bath twice a week and a good strip wash (all over) every day with a sink of hot water, shower gel and one of those wash scrub thingies here I'm afraid. I don't think I smell though. We keep talking about having a shower installed but at £600 for the shower and installation I think it will have to wait a little while longer.
£600:eek: . How come? Is that for a walk in one? It's a few years ago but we bought our shower from Argos about £100 and paid about another £100 to have it fitted. Have you ever looked into the cause of your slow-running bath. What about asking on the inyourhome section.
  • I just have to have a shower every morning, it does help me waken up, but other than that I couldn't go out without having one, and its just as quick as having a wash at the sink. As for hairwashing, that's about every 4 days, just when it needs it. My hair isn't long at the moment, so can avoid getting it wet in the shower, but when it is, I use a shower cap, as can't be doing with washing it all the time.
Am afraid that I don't have baths very often, suffice to say it's been months since I've had a good soak!

I normally have a shower every evening. I like the water really hot, then I snuggle up in my dressing gown. It's my way of relaxing. I think it's more that I want to do it, rather than I need to do it!

I don't wash my hair every day as it's long and thick. I've found twisting it up into a rough chignon, then fastening it with a big barrette clip holds it in place while I shower. I also have the shower head quite low, so it's just above my shoulders rather than above my head. My hair doesn't get wet doing it that way.

I do wash my hair 2-3 times a week, but then I'll go in the shower about 7.30pm and leave it to dry over the evening, as I hate using the hair dryer on it.
Here I go again on my own....

i was lectured by my hairdresser about washing my hair too often - she told me to only do it once a week! it's quite thick and on the dry side, so it doesn't get nasty and greasy. bring on the smoking ban so that i can go out and not come back with smelly hair!

She's been talking to my two boys as well;) LOL

We shower everyday at chez MATH and I sometimes have a soak in the bath at night during the winter to warm up and enjoy a good book. During the summer especially if I'm on the beach most of the day with the kidz we shower twice.

  • I have a shower everyday, i have to otherwise i dont feel clean. But when my boyfriend is away i.e atm for another 2 weeks, i tend to skip having a shower saturday and just lazing around in bed all day.

I have to wash my hair everyday, i also blow dry it and straighten it. Normally it would be because It would smell of smoke. I've stopped smoking so i hoped to get out of that routine.

I shower every day but normally wash my hair every other day unless it needs it sooner . I need the shower to waken me up in the morning - It doesnt stop me being grumpy until about 930am though :rotfl:
  • Kiwichick's post #15 and Calleyw's post #20 reminded me of an article I read ages ago about the increase in bathing/showering and the increase in excema, particularly in children in the last few decades. Maybe we are obsessed with cleanliness?

Personally, I have arthritis and mobility problems and find getting in/out of a bath difficult. I have a separate shower but it's not a very big cubicle and I keep knocking my elbows (ouch), also find it hard to bend down to wash my feet and get very tired standing up for more than a few minutes. So I only shower/bath once a week and strip wash the rest of the time. Nobody has commented and I hope my mother would tell me if I stink!

I have a bath or shower every day. Around a year ago we had an electric shower installed and I really noticed how much more our electricity bill was; I often forego the electric shower to have a really quick wash with the shower attachment to our normal taps in an attempt to save a bit of electricity.

I shower every morning and wash my hair. I just don't feel clean if I don't. In the summer I shower twice a day (sometimes more if I do a lot of housework or gardening etc).

I have washed my hair every day since I was about 13. It is very short now so easy but even when it was down my back I still washed it every day! I find hairdressers vary on how often to wash your hair. I have been told by some that you shouldn't wash it more than 3 or 4 times a week but others (including my present one) say you wash your face every day so why not your hair?
