With their noses;)
In 1945 100% of households didn't have the internet.:rotfl:
Things HAVE improved!
I shower at least once a day; twice in summer when it's hot. So once a day;)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

I have a crazy looking Gok Wan shower cap I wear so I don't always have to wash my hair. I shower every day, but only wash hair every 2-3 days. Works well and always put a smile on my face when I see myself in the mirror, and it sends OH into hysterics. It looks like one of the bathing caps you see Victorian ladies going int the sea wearing. Practical and cheerful too![STRIKE][/STRIKE]I am a long term poster using an alter ego for debts and anything where I might mention relationship problems or ex. I hope you understandLBM 08/03/11. I shower when I'm smelly or dirty, and since i don't sweat that much or get that dirty, I don't need a shower every day.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

To cut costs, you could always try turning your heater down to a cooler setting. Incidently, i was beginning to suffer with sore, red itchy skin on my legs and arms, the doctor gave me cream for it which was good, but it never went away. I turned the gas water heater temperature down when i had my daily bath/shower and the sore dry skin went away. On the minus side, it means i am not in the bath/shower very long before the water starts to go cool.
Wow I cant believe I posted that in 2006. The sore, red itchy skin on my legs returned a few months back so, despite hating our shower with a vengeance I have swapped most of my baths for showers as it doesn't seem to dry out my skin as much. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I have psoriasis on my scalp and excema on my skin. I have been expressly told to NOT shower daily. Also I use steroids to control the psoriasis and my dr won't let me use it more then once in 48hrs and if my scalp gets wet and I don't use it I'm in agony!
Then my DS got excema the dr told me to stop bathing him daily, how did he know I was?
So now I shower every second day, and the children have bath night 3 days a week. And all excema in this house is under control
Ps. In the summer we 'rinse' daily with a quick shower xWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
During ordinary or cold weather, I have about 2 showers a week. I have long hair, eczema and dry skin, so showering - or more specifically soaping - isn't that great, but I hate the oily 'soap' you can get for dry skin conditions, and I hate waiting for my hair to dry.
No one has ever said they could smell me, infact many people have said I have very little smell in general.
I like a really hot bath and that makes my ankles itchy but I enjoy the deep clean feeling, so I purposely set aside time to indulge in about one super-luxurious bath a month, it takes at least 2 hours, but I do everything - read a book, drink wine, fancy products, hair, nails, stuff like that - it feels like a real treat!
I find that having less showers keeps my skin nicer - and since giving up smoking and wheat carbs, my skin is even better. I hardly sweat or smell, but I think there's certain areas on ones body that do need a wash each day, so I have sink washes each day.
Obviously though I have extra showers if needs be!
Summer is very different. I have allergies and get a terrible reaction to my own sweat/the sun/plants etc and often have 2 or 3 tepid showers on hot days, without much soap, just to cool everything down.''A moment's thinking is an hour in words.'' -Thomas Hood0 -
This is going to sound minting. Im not a smelly person and don't sweat so I only shower and wash my hair once every 2 weeks. Honestly my hair stays shiny and I have a strip wash every day. I have raised Intracranial Pressure and literally having a shower and hair wash is excrutiating and I end up in bed all day as the heat exacerbates the problem. I am always asking my husband and kids if i am smelly and they always reply No.
My sons are always in the shower - sometimes up to 3 times a day and my DD spends hours in the bath. Once my problem is resolved I would like nothing better than to stand under a lovely hot shower xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
