When I shower I have to wash my hair as it gets wet, and my hairdresser told me to wash every other day maximum, so I have a shower one day, then a strip wash the next.

I'd prefer to shower every day but you don't HAVE to to be clean and fresh.

I used to have a friend who 'bathed' as he called it no more than twice a week!!

You can buy cheap shower caps in Boots, they are very good!!!!

We don't have a shower and I usually have a bath every other day or thereabouts. I do think that showering every day is a bit OTT - although it does wake you up.

No-one has ever complained about me or H smelling, we feel clean so I wouldn't wash any more often.

Obviously we do wash face etc twice a day, it's just full on washing that's every other day.

    You beat me to it!

I don't think a shower gets you any cleaner than a strip wash,it's just easier.
I'm like Rikki,I shower in the evening after my meal, change into comfy clothes, ditch my bra! and open the wine - although we're trying to limit that to Fri-Sun but it's hard :o

We don't have a shower and our bath takes forever to run so it's a bath twice a week and a good strip wash (all over) every day with a sink of hot water, shower gel and one of those wash scrub thingies here I'm afraid.

Us too Pooky. The kids do get a small bath each day in the summer, and I'm talking a couple of inches of water, as they are outside all day and filthy. In the winter its a bath every 2 days, maybe 3. DS (2) suffers with excema(SP?) so cant be bathed everyday anyway or it causes big flareups. We have a sponge wash with warm water from the bathroom handbasin. Dont think we smell either!

As for hair washing, mine is thick hair and I cant wash every day or it seems to go into oil production overdrive so tend to wash every 3-4 days. A friends of mine, who has the MOST GORGEOUS HAIR EVER, washes and straightens hers every 5 days.

You can liberate shower caps from hotel rooms!

Have just bought a shower in the half price sale at Bathstore. Bath has been removed to make way for the shower in the middle of March (after kitchen next week   ). I hate using a bath and now shower at work but feel that either putting on the same clothes again or having to carry around two sets of clothes to be either not nice or silly! So, bit the bullet and got a really big (1.2m x 800mm) for a huge saving.

Every day... yes! But morning for preference rather than evening.
  • Everyday or no-one wants to be with me, plus the washing machine works harder as the clothes are sweatier.

Twice a day for me, one in the morning and one about 7pm-ish

    Am I weird?

  • I have a bath every other day or so...shower is rubbish handheld thing which just involves me covering the bathroom with water so I don't use it. I am far to lazy to have a shower/bath everyday to be honest :p

I have a bath once a week. But shower everyother day and have sink/strip wash on the days I don't. Apart from a certain time of the month when it is a shower everyday and most of the time twice a day.

We are meter so that is why there is only a bath once a week and yes I know how grim it is but me and husband either share a bath or at least the water.

When we lived in our flat it was rateable value we had baths nearly everynight (sharing the water) and then only had a shower a couple of times a week when are hair needed washing.

I don't work at the moment so don't go out everyday around people. But I still keep clean and even put makeup on most days. Even though the only person I will see is my husband or the postie.

I do think that we are rather obessed as a society with being clean. To there is to me a huge difference not having a shower for one day and going days with out any sort of wash and looking and smelling dirty. I suspect the daily washings and everything being anti-bacteria is part of the reason why we can't fight infections. And as long as you have clean undies on as well don't see a major problem.

Go back about hundred years or so baths where had about once a week and they only had about two sets of clothes. Not suggesting we go back to that. But makes you think.

Also what do you think they do in third world countries where water is scare hardly enough to drink. Don't think they worry to much about having a bath everyday or washing hair all the time.

Mind you I use to live with a female that would only have a bath about once a week even during that time. And she use to call me and my husband a fishes because we had a bath or shower everyday. And her OH was not much better either. Now that is grim.

    Yours

I only shower every other day ~ I have very long thick hair and don't get up early enough to wash and dry it before I have to leave for work :o but I do have a strip wash. I have a bath most evenings and then have a quick shower to rinse my hair so I can leave it to dry while I watch tv or read. I do have masses of shower caps that I have procured from hotel rooms and my o/h always brings back a couple from his business trips away :rotfl:

During the summer I probably do shower more regularly because I feel grubby otherwise!
