  • WS - if it has not actually defrosted it should be OK - but it will have used scary amounts of electricity trying to keep it all frozen:eek: ! Same thing has happened to me before when SK's didn't push a drawer in properly so the door was slightly ajar - we ate everything and are still here to tell the tale!

    Good Afternoon all! :hello:

Haven't been on much as I have been sooo busy. Sticking loads more on Ebay, then promptly lost the lot because Ebay stopped all of the auctions 'in case' someone had hijacked my account without contacting me to find out first

Have also been mugging up for my interview today... which sort of didn't happen after all! It turned out they'd had problems with people not turning up/turning up at the wrong time and were running really late. So I did the hated psychometric tests (if there are no wrong answers then WHAT IS THE POINT OF ASKING!!!!) and had a little tour then came home and will go back tomorrow for the actual interview. I could tell by how stressed they are that it wasn't a normal state of affairs for things to go so wrong, so I really didn't mind. I had a natter with quite a few people when I was waiting around there and I really, really, really want the job now! Anyway, things can't have gone that badly so far because they insisted on giving me a lift home because they were sorry for the mess-around. Hopefully that's a good sign...

Hugs :grouphug: to all who want and need one and welcome too to all of the new OS arrivals :D
WS, if it seems frozen still it'll be fine! Don't panic hun, if it hasn't defrosted it isn't a problem.

    Huge hugs everyone xxx
  • Hey guys!

Late post for me, as have spent most the day chasing Michael Jackson tickets through presale links and still not getting any!! I could throw my laptop across the room at mo! All over some concert tickets  perhaps I should give up, it obviously wasnt meant to be!

I did pop out briefly to young mums group and took a chocolate cake with me, which everyone loved, but bet our waistlines dont! One of the mums annouced she is pregnant again today, there seems to be alot of it going round at mo :rotfl: I must know about 5 or 6 people who are pregnant, is there something in the water? :p

Group leader has put me forward to attend a parents forum in a fortnight, which is being held at a country club. Free lunch and swim after included! and travel exspenses paid, so couldn't really say no!

Ainsley Harriot creation for dinner, come across it in one of my cook books this week when looking for insipration, Chicken Alcapolco (don't think I have spelt it right, can't prounouce it let alone spell it! lol) spicy chicken kinda thing served with rice, looks yummy and easy to cook, so thats dinner sorted!!

    Must go get it started.

    Hugs to all!

Hi, hope everyone's having a good day! (((Hugs)) for anyone in need.

Well I've been to the gym and survived!!! :D Not as bad as I thought. Although it may be a different story when I wake up tomorrow!

This GP referral scheme is for 13 weeks and costs £2.50 per session. This shouldn't make too much of a hole in the budget as I've stopped spending so much recently.

As its my 50th birthday in a couple of weeks I'm determined to get my life in order this year including losing weight. Since being on the OS daily I've stopped wasting money on food etc that we don't need and hardly throw anything away. And I'm very slowly getting the house sorted. :T

I know what you mean about life changes. I wasted so much time, energy and money rushing round making sure my boys had all the latest toys etc and working to pay for them when all they needed was a laid-back Mummy at home. :o

My Mum always worked when I was growing up and we lived on quick meals and bought cakes etc. Now she's an 80yr old widow she's still the same! Quick ready meal in the microwave then moans that the days are long! I'm trying to encourage her to be more OS but suppose she's too old to change now.

So, braised liver and onions with HG french beans from the freezer and new potatoes for tonight then back to work for Council meeting.

    TTFN

Currently reclining on the bed with a cup of tea in shock at the gas bill that's just turned up. And it was just estimated. Then after working it out from scratch based on the current meter reading I realised this is half what it should be.

    We should be paying £350.

Never. Ever. Paid. More. Than. £150. A. Quarter. For. The. Winter.

Checked it all out and it is right, can't blame Southern Electric or meter. Price increases plus increased units due to range cooker and those blasted baby hedgehogs hubby insisted on hand rearing at 20 degree heat for 8 weeks (but they are sooooo cute).

Action stations. New OS challenge for the next 30 days - use no gas apart from what it takes to heat water. Heating off. Open fire on. Evaluating contents of my food cupboards and freezer to redo food plan so every meal is slow cooker. Switching to cheaper supplier. Tonight's curry is in the slow cooker. Go, go, go!!!!

P.S. Note to self - where they heck have my slippers gone???!!

    evening

Just popped in to give you all a quick update on the police "adventure" last night....2 officers called earlier and explained what had happened and appologised for the disruption.
Well it turns out that someone was trying to break into a garage  at a house a couple of doors down, he was spotted and the police turned up as he got the up and over door open so he took off, jumped over the railings between us and next door, ran over the top of the car, across the drive and away.
The eye-in-the-sky turned up and tracked him, and he was picked up :T

Off to do Dinner now beans on toast for OH and cheese on toast for me.

Just had our supper, I had no white wine, so put a splash of brandy in the chicken.........it was lush.........I used to do a dish with chicken, brandy and apricots, ages since I did that, it was a 'party piece' usually served to first time guests........then after that they got the sauage and mash with onion gravy!!!:D :D

Finished off the cheesecake, so tomorrows dessert will be oranges in jelly.....

I can tell I was awake early, very tired.........but trying hard not to nap on the settee so I sleep better tonight...........allotment tomorrow if its fine, need to get the spud bed ready and a couple of other jobs to do.

I have cut out and sewn the second bolero, just have the sleeves of the first one to baste and then edge stitch and they can go ready for the big day. Once I know they have arrived I will post a link to the photographs of the boleros and also the ring pillow.

    Evening all

WS glad to hear LB is OK after his bang on the head. Like other OPs have said they do bounce sometimes!! Reminds me of my eldest DS walking down the stairs when he was 3 in front of me and I had youngest DS in my arms, he was only a couple of weeks old. Eldest DS stumbled and ended up down the stairs onto the polished floor and slid on his back under the table that was at the bottom. Once we checked he was OK we had a good chuckle at that

Gong to settle down to watch the footie in a mo, make a cuppa and have some HM fruit bread, mmmmm. Just have to hope for a win now ;)

    Have a good night all

    I've been Money Tipped!
Just taken some sausages out of the freezer and they are definitely soft at one end, as the actress said to the bishop...

So, one dozen posh chunky sausages in oven as I type. Half will go to work with dear heart for his lunch and half will stay here with little bear and I. I will probably cook any more that I find in the depths.

I will dispose of any home made stuff, as I think that is more susceptible to runny tummy stuff (I am paranoid about this) but cook up any beef, chicken etc to casseroles and soups to replace the stuff that I am disposing.

So that is tomorrow taken care of :o

Also I don't have much veg in, so I will find this a fantastic stimulus to go to town to get some veggies. I shall take little bear on his first trip to the market, if my nerve holds. I shall keep you posted.

Thank you all for the well wishes for little bear who has been fine today but extremely tired. That is the hours and hours waiting in A&E. He has also been lacking in appetite, but that is not a big deal when he is so tired.

    Hugs to all
