Morning :hello:
I'm going to have to stop posting on here soon, OS is going out the window  If the trus eat late at night, they leave the washing up and guess who gets up first in the morning? Me  I can't stand the mess so I clear it up. Actually, forget that, I cleared it up. Now I only wash up after I've used something, their stuff gets put in the dishwasher - "Where's the really big plate? I'm starving" "In the dishwasher. Dirty" "Grumble moan whine". Apply that to everything else in the house and you can see why our bills are about to go up. They can't be bothered cooking, so they're all eating ready-made rubbish. Money-wise, something has to give so I've put my principles on the backburner and they will be getting value chicken, vaue ham, value EVERYTHING. I give it 2 weeks, they'll soon be moaning about tasteless, watery food.
I'm off for a long hot shower now, then I'm going to cut my hair. Yesterday, I started making a bag yesterday out of an old pair of jeans so I'll finish that today. I haven't got a pattern, just making it up as I go. If it works I'll make another out of cammie trousers.Bulletproof0 -
Good morning all,
replaced some of our old dodgy mugs the other day and got some nice big bone china ones. So enjoying a large mug of tea. Glooomy here so having a good sit with the lamp...and enjoying catching up on the 'pooter at the same time.
have a ham hock out of the freezer, peas in soak, so will be creative with that later on. You've heard of rubber chicken, so now follows Rubber Ham Hock! Recipe ideas welcome! Very OS.
Maybe will get reacquainted with my vacuum cleaner today.
Lots of other c*@p to sort, but what I would really like to do is some sewing.
Hope you all have a great day.

BARGAINBIRD - I wish I was organised. I'm soooooooo not, which is why I'm in financial doo doo so a new leaf has been turned.
SUNNYGIRL and MOGGINS - hope you kick out the sore throat and cold quickly
((((LADYMAY))))
Well, I'm bathed, one spreadsheet is done and I've made £180 odd this month on ebay once all the fees are taken into account. :T
But just discovered doing second spreadsheet that next month it's car MOT time  so I might as well forget about the debt overpayment this month.
But that's the purpose of doing the spreadsheets I guess.
Next household task: hoover the downstairs after yesterdays marathon cupboard move. It's absolutely minging...."carpe that diem"0 -
Little bear is fine. I had set my alarm to check him in the middle of the night and snuggled down in his room. At 2am he decided he wanted to play - and as that was almost exactly 24 hours after the bump I decided to crawl off to my own bed.
Honestly - five minutes after the bump he didn't know where he was, what was happening, who mum was, couldn't focus. Five hours later and he was using the living room as a climbing frame (as usual!). I need to get used to this
I am v tired, and to be fair so is little bear, so little or no OS today
Trazy - do be careful - grownups do not recover as fast from a bump as little ones. I think a fall is an incredible shock to the system and if all your muscles tensed at the fall they may well be aching. Hope you feel better soon.
Ladymay - congratulations. When you are famous I shall boast that we posted on the same thread.

Morning All,
Well we started really going through our stuff last night. Have a growing pile of clothes for the charity shop (being very ruthless) and a small pile for the bin or for dusters etc.
We have decided to pack a little bit up every night so by the time moving day come we should be prety much organised. Found a couple of those vacuum bags that you put clothes in and then seal them up with the hoover. AMAZING! Argos do a 3 pack for £6 so going to get a couple more I think.:j
OS today is a continuation of 'Raiders of the lost Food Cupboards'. We are trying to buy as little food as possible so again when moving day come we have less to take. Sandwich for lunch today.
Washing machine packed up last night:eek: As we are renting it's up to our agents to sort it out but could take a couple of days:eek: Have plenty clothes and there is a laundrette nearby if needed.
Steel: Glad you got your cupboards in!
Wannabe Sybil: LB will be grand, there wasn't a day went by when sisters and I were wee that we did not have a bruise or bump somewhere!
Mioliere: Super organised, you are my inspiration!
Bargain Bird: Rubber chicken is awesome. AN OS staple where you roast of a chicken and then use it up of a succession of days in different dishes. i.e Roast on Sunday, curry on Mon, sandwiches on Tues etc
Hug and hello's to everyone else, overcast here in the 'burgh with a touch of rain. Rubbish compared to yesterdaySpreading the gospel that is Martin Lewis to the future generation....I'm a Home Economics Teacher and being thrifty is the way!:A0 -
Also to add - so tired because woke myself up every five minutes worrying about little bear when he was fine.
Need to get a grip.
Also, today is a good day to knit, does that count as OS? I have baby clothes to knit for next door's grandson.

Good morning all. The sun seems like it's trying to break through the clouds. Yesterday was quite sunny for the most part and turned rather mild as the day went on. It was a nice break from the cold.
I've not been here much for the past few days so am a bit out of touch with what is going on with everyone. I did manage to read that Beth's DD had the wee baby girl. Congrats Nannie, DD, SIL2be and all!
Sybil, I've had 4 biological children with several of them climbers and all of them bumped heads and every other part of their body. I worried a lot with my first about these things. By the time numbers 2 thru 4 came, I learned to just give them a cuddle, kiss the boo boo and they would be fine. Little ones are much more resilient than we are. And if I could bottle all their energy I'd make a mint selling it! Acutally probably not as these days I'd take it myself. Don't worry about OS today, get some rest if you can, even if it's just sitting and watching little bear play. And yes, knitting is definitely OS.
Our eldest DD is back in hospital. Not for her asthma this time. She has a bad bladder and kidney infection and is in a lot of pain. They gave her IV antibiotics then started her on tablets. She's also on a rather strong painkiller so hopefully it will make her tired enough she can rest some. When the pain lessens, they will let her go home. She's hoping that will be by tomorrow.
I'm not impressed by the hospital she is in at all. They wanted to argue about giving her the asthma meds and nebulizer treatments she has daily, even tho it was noted that she needs them daily. This has happened both times she has been in. Unfortunately the next closest hospital is over an hour away and she just didn't feel she could handle the ride there. Ok, done my rant.:o
I've not decided what to do today other than a general tidy up and hoover. Yesterday I gave the kitchen a deep clean including the cupboard fronts. As long as the doors shut, I will ignore the shelves for right now.I made some soft rolls for DH's lunches and they came out ok, not brilliant but edible.
I'm still cooking OS at least. I suppose that's something. Tea tonight will be a savoury type bread and butter pudding with browned sausages that need using up. I'll add some onion and maybe peppers or something else and we'll see how it turns out. If you hear about food poisoning cases in this area, it will probably be us.I'll cook some veg to go along with it. I have no idea what will be for afters. I'll have to see what's left in my baking supplies which I don't think is much.
On a brighter note, I've been getting more surveys in that I'm qualifying for so have had some small (very small) payments go into our paypal account. It adds up though. I have a £10 voucher to claim from another site so am deciding which one I want. Can't seem to make up my mind.
After working 6 days last week, DH is working 7 in a row this week. Come Saturday night I know he'll be more than ready for the holiday time. He has 6 days he has to use by the end of the month so it will be a good time for him to rest and recharge. Hopefully the weather will be half decent so we can get out together a bit. We haven't been getting much chance to do that lately and we both miss it. We don't go out for a meal or anything, to the park with furbaby, walks, rummage through charity shops. I enjoy it.
I've written a novel as usual so will shush now and get on with the day.
Gentle hugs to all.
Peyton xx
P.S. Bargainbird, rubber chicken is a chicken that streettchheesssssssss over several meals. I just found that out yesterday. I read it is an american term, but this american has never heard of it.Take the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
Just take the first step.

Hi all
They leave tommorrow, but are going to Bath tonight so won't be back until late. I am going out with the girls tonight as we all need a rest. Lab is running the annual Oxford relay race today, but I am not running. I am not built for running. More built for flowing. And I am shattered. I have done three fifteen hour days on the trot then gone home and cooked for five people and I *need* to sleep.
My boss has offered me another 6 months - paid properly, which is quite nice - I get to learn some tissue culture too - which is about the only big thing missing from my CV. He said he will give me the freedom to do some other stuff I want to in the lab too, which is so nice - I am a little junior to be given such freedom (normally that comes much later), so it really is a privilidge.
OH reckons his ex-wife has actually filed and I am named; couldn't really talk much as the outlaws were there, but I'm guessing he has spoken to his solicitor. I will wait for the letter to arrive before deciding what to do. I have already written my basic draft in response, but will need the details from my copy when it turns up. I don't want a fight, but I will also not capitulate for the sake of peace. I am a very very patient person, so I will wait. Tough call really as he is very fed up and I don't want to upset him any more, so finding a balance will be hard. He is the sort of person that will take the hit for the sake of avoiding conflict. I am not. *sigh*
OS-wise they had pastisto (sp) for dinner last night - quite why they felt the need to cook and partialy eat both of the identical batches I made in the morning and left in the fridge I will never know but such is the mind of the inlaws  I was late home, so didn't join them for dinner. I am not cooking tonight - they can fend for themselves for a change.
Have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
