Great 'Best Travelodge Holidays' Hunt: Which travelodge's offer the perfect get away?

If you want to visit London, then the Covent Garden lodge - just off Oxford Street - is ideal. You can pop back to your room for a cuppa during the day. The Euston lodge is new and also recommended. Considering it`s location, it is very quiet. The 3 near Kings Cross are easy to get to, but only go there if the others have no cheap rooms. I will be trying the Marylebone one next month. They don`t appear to have any family rooms there, but it does seem to be well located.
We went to the Marylebone travel lodge and it is really not good at all. Beds totally worn out, rooms really shabby with light sockets hanging off etc. We made a complaint list of about 20 items - they did give us a refund for one night but be warned!0 -
Just come back from 3 nights at Blackpool South Shore, and was very impressed. Nice new building. Room fine - we did have to ask for extra bedding and towels (and remote control that wasn't in room) but that wasn't a problem. Paid in advance for the brekkie, don't think you can go wrong as it includes the kids free.
Parking is £5 for 24 hours. This is cheap compared to general parking in Blackpool - I made the mistake of driving to the tower (didn't actually realise it was as close as it was) and paid £9 for 8 hours!
Anyway, 5-7 minute walk to seafront, 10 minute walk to a nice pub on the front called The Manchester which did good meals (2 for £6.95). 15 minute walk to The Tower, literally just walk straight down by the football stadium and road takes you directly there (I found this out from looking out at the top of Blackpool tower, as we had driven a different way in!).
I had bought Merlin passes half price in January, so we did the tower, sealife and madame tussards all of which are included. Kids refused to go in tower dungeons which are also included (they are big scaredy cats!).
I treated them to the Sandcastle Waterpark today before leaving, which is horrifically expensive (which is why I didn't swim as well, as would have cost another £17.50 ).
Anyway, a great time, and would definitely recommend.0 -
I only ever read horror stories about this hotel how do they keep trading when there rooms are not fit for animals let alone humans!Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0

I think this is fair enough as no beast should come before a human and we genuinely love our dog.
I try to avoid hotels that allow pets. I'm surprised top hotels take pets for hygiene reasons alone you can't take a dog into a supermarket or even on a bus but to a hotel.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
Perth -- security door from reception broken, as were a few facilities
Dundee City Centre -- noisy from traffic and casino next door
Kings Cross -- lots of sirens, very busy at reception with foreign visitors, staff clueless, nasty microwaved meals in bar/cafe
Barking -- one of the best, apart from being woken up at 130am by receptionist come to fix plug in bath!!!!
Edinburgh City Bypass -- one of the originals I think, big rooms, very dated, still using keys not cards, Little Chef next door0 -
PENGE! (if you've never been there its a wonderful place (er honest) a new travel lodge is opening in zone 3, london.
The area is residential, the building used to be an office, I havent been inside, however, I think it will be a lot less popular than other London ones, and you can get a bus from outside the door taking you to lewisham or Penge east station and from there the world is your oyster. Well, London.
So if you dont mind a half hour journey to get to more exciting bits (what is more exciting than Penge I hear you cry!) I think there could be some bargainous London hols. Hotels further down the road start at £90 for business travellers in Croydon.0 -
Hopefully something that will be obvious to someone who knows London!!
Am hoping to book a couple of days in London to take my daughter to see a show one day, and to go on the Harry Potter studio tour another. Have been told that the train for the studios leaves from Euston. ( and our train from Glasgow gets in there too) The following Travelodges have sale prices for some of my possible dates - Tower Bridge, Central City Road, Covent Garden.
Can someone let me know which of these would be best to get to Euston from?
Thanks a lot - hoping to book them while the sale prices are still available0 -
It really does not make much difference - they are all relatively close but will require a tube or bus ride. Check https://www.TFL.co.uk for suitable transport.
Have a walk from Euston or two stops on loads of busses to Kings Cross for some pictures at the delightful Harry Potter mock-up platform 9 and three-quarters - completely free."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Would stay away from travelodge Glasgow central! The place was awful, rooms weren't cleaned and we had property go missing just before Xmas :-(0

Caernarfon in North Wales seems nice - we booked but then decided to rent a cottage elsewhere as better with the kids. But when we visited Caernarfon we checked into our room to check it out and have a toilet stop/wash after beach visit/rest/cuppa/feed the baby and the room was clean, hotel is quite new. The surrounding area was good, it overlooks the docks and you can walk to town centre and castle in minutes.0
