Great 'Best Travelodge Holidays' Hunt: Which travelodge's offer the perfect get away?

  • The one in Torquay is good - it is a new build (opened about 18mths ago). Our first visit was marrred by a group of noisy 'erberts and 'erbertesses who had come to go clubbing returning at some unearthly hour in the morning and kicking up a racket. However they did end up treating all the other residents to breakfast (inadvertently, Travelodge took it off their cards!) and we have stayed there on several other occassions without incident.

Have stayed in various other lodges and invariably find the staff friendly and helpful. Consider them good value, especially if you get one on offer, and they basically "do what it says on the tin".

Can anyone advise on "how" to search for a £9 room? Right now I'm going to the search page and typing in "London", "Essex" etc and I'm getting mostly £45-£55 a night hotels.

I'm looking for anywhere in London/Essex or anywhere within 1 hour on the train from London.

Is there a better way (or for that matter ANY way) to search for ONLY the £9 rooms?

Im afraid that probably means there arent any £9 ones for the area/dates you want.
    travel lodge saver rooms
If you go to the site, on the left you get a choice to search for £9 or £19 rooms and thats what you are doing, yes? Not all lodges have the cheap rooms.

£45 is still very cheap for London.

What dates are you looking for.

No, I'm afraid that I don't believe there is.

No, only the grid of the nearest hotels to where you want to be. The £9 rates don't tend to be for London - nowt is cheap in London.

Try going to Yorkshire instead ;)
  • does anyone have any experience of either of these travel lodges? Farringdon comes in cheaper by about £30, but can get a family room at london city. Going down for 9 nights, going to shepherds bush for the footie a couple of days and sightseeing round central london the rest, flying to heathrow.

also, what are experiences on the buffet breakfast or are there plenty of cafes nearby?

    thanks

If you mean City Road, there's a Wetherspoons within about a five minute walk that is cheaper for breakfasts - and also a Tesco Express immediately next to the hotel. The location is central but in the city so not that many shops and pretty deserted in the evening,

I've booked 2 family rooms (family of 5) for next Easter Sunday en-route to Center Parcs at Whinfell (really didn't want to travel on the A55, M56 & then join the M6 on a BH!).

Any reviews? Read Trip Advisor - some like it some don't but that is the same with every hotel I guess.
