Great 'Best Travelodge Holidays' Hunt: Which travelodge's offer the perfect get away?

We have stayed at many Travelodge's but the best must be Sheffield Meadowhall. I think it was built under another chain originally and Travelodge took it over. The furnishings are good and staff really nice. We're off there again in November to do our Christmas shopping.

Just an idea at the moment - but which travelodge would folk recommend for London St Pancras? Thats the station we arrive at from Nottingham, and we'd also leave from that station on the Eurostar for Paris (possibly early morning).
Thanks everyone,

Both the Kings Cross and Euston TLs are close by. Avoid KX Royal Scot as this is quite a walk."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Hey just looking for some advice from those in the know :-)
My boyfriend and I are travelling to London in Nov. for a gig in the Brixton O2 Academy. Planning to stay 2 nights. We think we're better staying near the city rather than close to the gig... what time do the tubes stop operating? As I wouldn't want to be stuck getting back to our accommodation when the show's over and have to pay for a taxi...
I've stayed in Liverpool St Travelodge before and loved the location as it was near Spitalfield Market and Brick Lane which I totally loved. But I was thinking I should try a different one this time round...
I have heard good reports about the Southwark Travelodge and seems very reasonable. And the City Road Travelodge also offered good rates - when viewing this on Street map it appealed simply due to the architecture and seems to be on a busy London area - we're not bothered about being somewhere super quiet! Ideally we'd like to be near things like a newsagent and pubs etc. Waterloo is also showing reasonable prices for the dates we're over.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
(Also, what are people's thoughts on Premier Inn hotels?)

I stay here quite a lot. Very central but quite dead at weekends as it is near the city. Five minutes walk to some excellent pubs including "The Eagle" -
Up and down the City Road
In and out The Eagle
That's the way the money goes
Pop goes the weasel
Pop = to pawn
The weasel = cockney slang for weasel and stoat = coat =weasel
Also plenty of buses and tubes all close-by. Newsagents etc just outside. If you get a good rate go for it."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Thanks everyone,
We stayed in the Kings Cross travelodge when we went to Disneyland Paris in March. It is only a 10 minute walk to St Pancras which was ideal as we were catching the 5.15 eurostar!!
Hope this helps.

Last tube will probably be about 00.15 although best not take that as gospel, I'd check with the tfl website (transport for london) for the Victoria line. There would be night buses after that which will generally terminate in Trafalger square, so theoretically easily walkable to any of the hotels on Euston Road or in the West End. Brixton has become trendier over the last few years and is nowhere near as edgy as it was 20 years ago, if you can get a better deal south of the river dont be put off by past reputation. Be aware wherever you are though!
Southwark would be great for Borough market (foodie) and Tate Modern, City Road for all the new trendy stuff in Shoreditch and Hoxton. depends what you want to do really. All the places you mention can be considered to be central London and will be relatively busy, although City road may be slightly less so (depending on exact location) as it is closer to the financial district (empty at weekends).
Waterloo would be about a mile and a bit north of Brixton, therefore walkable if you feel relatively confident.
You may want to consider getting an Oyster card if you think you will be using public transport much,, or possibly registering for a Boris bike....0
