They gave me Sky+ free about 18 months ago when I threatened to cancel my contract. I wasn't really bothered about it at the time, but the guy who installed it said knowingly that "I'd understand" once it was in. I have to say it is great - actually cuts down the amount of tv I watch as I record decent stuff and fastforward the ad breaks.

    Highly recommend this deal
  • I wouldn't hold your breath on the vouchers front, I had to wait ages to get my £50 and it took several phone calls for them to eventually come.
  • When are they going to give there existing customers the same deal? thier deals are always for new customers only. Once you are a loyal customer they dont care about you any more,

I was trying to take advantage of the HD+ box for £49, but as a current Sky customer, I can't have it  I live in a house full of males who dominate Sky, I want my own; its not too much to ask seeing as how our original sky+ thing cost us close to £400 and we have the full package which costs around £55 per month. For the initial cost of £49 for the box, we were prepared to pay an extra £19-50 a month (£9-75 x2 per month HD and multi-room) but they wont entertain it. BAH! Currently in e-mail contact with Sky but I won't hold my breath
  • Once again though Sky ignore their existng customers who want to upgrade to Sky+.

I phoned recently for my Dad whos an old aged pensioner, so tried the poverty route, but they said tough £99 + £60 install !!!
  • To be honest i'm not too bothered about the vouchers. i'd just like sky+ for free.
i got sent a leaflet a few weeks ago saying i could get a sky+ (NOT HD) box for £49. when i phoned up to order it, the guy seemed unsure if it was going to be £49, and put me on hold twice, the second time i sat there on hold for 10 mins and then hung up - not wasting my phone bill on those idiots. I know sky are a bunch of very sly people, but i really do want sky+ as i know how handy it is. aint paying the current £99 for it though.

Also, i tried the link and its still coming up as not workin - will keep on trying though.
    Thanks xx

I had cancelled sky. left it a week, and called to say I was thinking of coming back, was offered free Sky+ and free install. Did not have to sign up to Broadband or Phone. Installed Monday, took 4 hours for system to activate, then perfect. Switching to this and Phone and Broadband with talktalk, has saved me £31 a month, with free calls to landlines day and night, and free Sky+.

    Thanks MSE
  • Am I right in thinking if you were an existing customer (not sky+) and they would't entertain giving you "owt for nowt" that you could order as a new customer you'd get whatever offer is on then cancel your old account once you new dish /sky+ box is fitted so you wouldnt be without sky whilst waiting for the new equipment to arrive?

A friend, who is an existing customer, called in, and got it free with free install, but had to sign up for another 12 months. They seem to be afraid of freeview customers. She told them she now got freeview and was thinking of turning Sky off when her contract ends. Be persistant.

    Good Luck
  • I wonder if it would work if I signed up as a new customer in MY name as opposed to trying to upgrade through my husbands account?
  • The link is still broken as i think this would be a good idea for us and so long as u dont have to take the full price package its ok.... its cheaper than love film x
