Barclays Golden ISA feedback

Yes, but the question is: why can't customers type the required information into a website for themselves, as they can with just about every other financial institution with a Web presence? Why make people spend time and money travelling to the branch and pay for parking, when the whole thing could be done in 5 minutes at home or over the phone? Proof of identity can be posted or taken into a branch later, when convenient.
And, for existing Barclays ISA customers (like me), where Barclays has personal details and proof of identity, there really is no excuse for forcing a branch visit. That's why Barclays won't be getting my ISA this year. Or any of my business ever, the way things stand.
Actually, you could have apply for the Golden ISA over the phone by calling 0800 49 49 49 instead of going to branch. Since you are an existing customer, you could use online banking to apply. By doing this, the account will be opened within minutes.
If you go on the Barclays website, all products can be applied over the phone or online through online banking, instead of going to branch.0 -

You could have booked an appointment before you went into branch, so you could be seen straight away at that time. Alternatively, you could have applied by phone.
I think you need to wait for a long time to be seen, as other customers have booked an appointment. So after those customers are done, then it's your turn.
Not much difference in terms of interest anyway, it's only 0.10%. No big deal.0 -

No problems for me at all and I'd like to thank Barclays for making the process as hassle-free as possible.0 -

what a fool! 20 minutes wait to get the best isa on the market, why should you expect to walk in without a pre-booked appointment and be seen straight away, those people in the branch were trying their best to help!0 -
As an alternative to Barclays, for people who don't want to wait/make an appointment/go to a branch etc. The National Counties ISA pays 3.26%. Last year's version didn't decrease as much as Barclays Tax Haven ISA so I was actually better off over the course of the year.
I opened this year's ISA on Monday online. Gives you a pre-filled form to print and send to their freepost address. Checked online banking this morning and account was opened yesterday. Online application is open to new and existing customers or you can just pop a form in the post.
Their service has been absolutely brilliant over the past year and I'd highly recommend them.0 -

Absolutely, it is a shame none customers seem to expect to be top of the list. Sorry, but we also have our own customers who actually had the courtesy to make an appointment!:rolleyes:Personal Banker at Barclays0 -

"im not making an appointment"
well i explained i have some existing loyal customers who have booked appts a few weeks ago e.t.c

As I hold a Barclays current account (though it's not my main account). I opened the Golden ISA online in less than two minutes. The full balance was showing immediately. Well done Barclays! The process should never have been as painful as it was during the last two years, but fair play to them it's much easier now. Please call me 'Kazza'.0

Barclays are only interested in selling. i have an account but have not used it for several years and do not have a connect card. i cannot sort the ISA out on line as i cant register for on line banking without a connect card i phoned the 0800 number but cant apply by telephone as I'm not registered for on line banking. can get an appointment in branch for 10 days.
when i phoned customer services to apply for a new connect card the idiot I spoke to tried to SELL home insurance.
When i applied for ISA with BMW proof of ID was done on line by passport number. Done in 5 minutes.
Barclays just want to get you in the branch to sell. I am not wasting my time in branch I would rather take a lower rate than put up with being sold to.!!!!!!!!!!!!!0
