a personal bankers bonus is hardly what is upsetting people in this current climate, after all why shouldn't a sales person be rewarded for their sales?0

Looking back at my previous post, I dont seem to have mentioned my bonus at all and I wouldn't discuss that on a public forum as that is my business and no one elses...
And I dont buy this idea of people not being able to be rewarded for their performance, using the 'current climate' as an excuse. At the end of day if someone is doing their job properly they should be rewarded for reaching and exceeding their goals/targets.
Oh and I am not going to justify to any one on this public forum as to why I deserve a bonus, as it is no one elses business but my own. Something of which I have not discussed at all in this thread if you look carefully at my previous post!:rolleyes:Personal Banker at Barclays0 -

He didn't discuss what his bonus is.
The most that he, or I, have said is the conquest values of a few products - i.e. the number of "points" that the staff member earns for selling those products.
What we didn't mention was the incentive values for these products - how much the staff member is actually paid for these sales - or what target Stanton currently has.
All you know is that online is assigned the value of £100, and a new Barclays Bank Account is £60. These numbers are absolutely useless to you without some context to put them in. I mean, do you HONESTLY think we'd pay our sellers £100 for every person who asks for online banking?
I'll also echo the bemusement around your "current climate" comment. Retail banking is, as a whole, very profitable. The staff that work in retail banking to make it a success should naturally be rewarded. They are in no way accountable for the actions of other members of staff in different sections of the business where there are problems.
I'd also like to remind you that Barclays has taken no money from the government. We had our own problems, and we fixed them ourselves.
What Stanton's bonus is, what mine is, what the bonus of anybody who works for Barclays is none of your business. I don't see what basis you deign to make these judgements on.What would William Shatner do?0 -

Really as member of staff myself WHY THE HELL ARE you saying this in an open forum about what your targeted to and what counts towards you targets.
He didn't say what he was targeted to. Or the incentive values for those sales. The information posted is completely useless unless you work in Barclays and know what the hell it actually means.
Also, your comment about a typical branch PB... retail is the backbone of our business. They get the majority of customers in to the business, and as such keep the rest of us in the group employed. Think on that before you go insulting UKRB.What would William Shatner do?0 -
I had intended to open a golden ISA today for 08/09 but the Barclays site is down.
I mnow I can open it in a branch but the page that tells you what ID you need is not working - any ideas?0 -

The site works now, ID required: http://www.personal.barclays.co.uk/BRC1/jsp/brccontrol?task=popup1group&value=16150&target=_blank&site=pfs
If it still doesn't work on your end, just bring a photo ID and proof of address like utility bill, drivers licence, bank statement, etc... Those will do.0 -

I'm an existing Barclays online customer and I too found it incredibly quick and easy to set up a Golden ISA online. Well done Barclays.
But today I got my written confirmation that it had been set up and I'm concerned about the clause in the Declaration and Authority which says:
"I apply to subscribe for a cash ISA for the tax year 2008/09 and each subsequent year until further notice."
!!!!!!? I only wanted a cash ISA from Barclays for this current tax year. Have they hoodwinked us in to using them ongoing? Shurely shome mishatke???
If so, Martin needs to get all over this. Can someone confirm what the position is?
