  • Just had a return call from Fiona who after I had explained about speaking to the CAB and Consumer Direct regarding their failure to keep their end of the contract, discovered a new batch of vouchers had been delivered and emailed my entitlement to me.
    Amazing coincidence.
No more Simplyswitch for me though and my advice to others is go elsewhere.
  • I am also struggling. I was assured they would be sent to me 90 days after application. I emailed her after 91 days to be told it would be another 30...

Have sent her a snotty email now. Will wait for a response then go to Consumer Direct...

Sounds like they are having a cash flow problem and can't afford to buy the vouchers. The time may come when nobody gets them.

Does seem like that may be the reason for all the delays and probs. I allowed 4 months before chasing (I had received the confirmation email). Suffice to say it took four emails and another 2 months before I got the voucher codes. Would never recommend SimplySwitch and rather disappointed that they are still on the MSE guide to switching tariffs. I know MSE are not actually endorsing a company on here but if there are multiple problems reported by users of this site....
  • Received this email 11 march 2010 in response to several chases

    Thank you for your email.

I can confirm the request for Amazon vouchers has been received, the order has been placed and we are just waiting to receive the vouchers from Amazon before we can issue them out in the post to you.

Apologies for the delay as soon as the order is received these will be issued to you.

    Kind Regards

    Fiona

    Have now sent this email

I am sorry to say I am still awaiting the £35 amazon vouchers from when I switched 25/26th November 2010 through the moneysaving expert link. I think almost 6 months is more than enough time to wait, especially when the vouchers were promised within 90 days and would appreciate this matter now being taken up with the simplyswitch complaints department. If I have not received the £35 amazon vouchers within 10 working days of this email, I will be contacting the Moneysavingexpert.com website as I am sure they will not be happy to find they have been promoting a site and service that fails to live up to its terms.

(ps its nothing personal, you have been very helpful, I am just cross with your company for bad service)
I think I am going slightly mad.....

The anniversary of joining Ovo (and not getting my vouchers from Simply Switch) is coming up for me so time to switch to avoid the huge hike.

Simply Switch offering £40 cashback... I've gone with moneysupermarket's £30 as that is £30 more than I'd have got with SS.

  • amazingly, 36 hours after emailing Fiona to ask for the problem to be escalated to a complaint as 6 months was too long to wait for 'virtual vouchers' my £35 voucher arrived by email. Now it might have been my threat to raise the matter with the moneysavingexpert site, I dont know, but I ordered books and a new doorbell as fast as possible before they cancelled it, and am now enjoying 32 ringtones and my long awaited baking made easy among others.
Persistence paid off and like you said, 6 months and I will be switching again, but probably elsewhere!!!
I think I am going slightly mad.....
  • I signed up for Scottish Power via the MSE link to Simply Switch back in January and everything had gone through by the end of February.

I didn't hear anything at all from Simply Switch apart from the single confirmation of my switch being initiated (no mention of Amazon vouchers in that mail).

Before chasing them about it, I came to MSE to check the forums and read all the negative stuff, so I was a bit apprehensive when I e-mailed them last week.

However, they e-mailed me back the very next day with the voucher and a follow-up message to check I'd got it.
  • Still not got them :( grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. Another email sent...

    Hi,

If you're still having problems and are eligible for the vouchers please either PM or emai me (see my profile) and I will do my best to take it up with SimplySwitch for you.

    Thanks
