But white text counts too!
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -

Hello Heinz,
I am reading your posts and evident expertise in admiration while my own concern rises.
I have today received Broadband gubbins from Primus(much agonised reading on site before choosing)and BT changeover date is tomorrow, 23/6. I, in common with several other posters here, use 'phone mostly for calls beyond the UK - France, New Zealand. Primus say I may still use the over-ride no's at the same rate and I will continue to have BT on Option 1 to provide the Broadband access(£11 monthly). I now wonder if I have misunderstood the whole business and would appreciate hearing from anyone about this or post-Primus Broadband phonebills

I am on BT Together Option 1, Primus Saver Option 2 (free evening and weekend UK 01/02 calls) and have accounts with 1899, 18866 and 18185. By BB is BT Basic (£17.99/month).
I too received the Primus 'bumf' about their new BB offering but, as BT had just offered the free upgrade to 8Mb and Primus were only offering 2Mb, I didn't go for it even though there was a £3/month saving.
I can't see though that taking their BB would have any effect on the telephony side of things. If the line rental remains with BT and you only CPS your calls, the option to use any prefix-dial provider (including 1280 to hop back onto BT) remains.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Why not register for https://www.18185.co.uk
Calls from BT Landline to UK Mobile.
5p a min Peak & weekday evenings. 2p a min weekends.(4p connection charge) . Unlike 0844 dial through numbers you dont pay if your not connected.;)PF.0 -

It will work from Telewest using the 0808 Freephone access but it will be dearer during weekdays 10p a minute instead of 5p. Still 2p at weekends.See
http://www.18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php for full rates.
You should be able to dial 0844 access numbers from Telewest but dont forget theirs a connection charge of 6p.Try https://www.0844calls.co.uk (08444 282 525) 4p a min from a BT Landline might be dearer from TW.PF.0
