Thanks for the reply Heinz, managed to get through in the end - used their 'reverse charge number' wasn't the one you put down, but found a different one on their website.0

Hi I am new to this site so bear with me. My husband if off to greece on business, we both have pay as you go vodofone mobiles and we also have a bt line. Now my question is, what will be the cheapest way to communicate,
bearing in mind if he receives calls in Greece he has to pay part of the call
charges. He does not use computers either. Be very grateful if anyone could come with some ideas.0 -
can I just say thanks to all who took time to reply - got plenty to work on.

Just had to let you know that Virgin/old telewest are stillhaving problems with the 0844 200 number - on their website it claims 1ppm but in reality they charge 10ppm - 10 times the rate. And no one in the call centre can do anything so have just submitted formal complaint! Have been told the can make up the prices whenever they want, irrelevant of what is published - this by a Customer Service Manager! Is there any hope for us penny pinchers? Do check your bills and happy saving.
PS Have never posted before, but this really got my goat!isayoldchap wrote: »Eventually Telewest have TODAY 30/03/06 16.30hrsadmitted that their call prices for 0844 200....was set up wrong and was charging 42.5p per minute plus vat (50p) instead of 0.50 (half pence per minute)You may have used this access code to make your calls in the last few weeks/months.
I strongly advise you to check your telephone bills to see if you have been massively overcharged(100 times)the actual charge.See my other posts0 -

Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0

Hi guys,
I need to call Expedia in Australia as cheaply as possible...
I don't have a land line so I am restricted to calls from my Vodafone mobile, a pay phone or VoIP...
Can someone tell me what the cheapest way to do this is?
Thanks0 -

If you have Inclusive Minutes on Voda you can call OZ via 18185, 0208 Geographical Access Number for 2p a minute plus connection.

2p (plus 5p connection charge) a min using
http://www.call18866.co.uk/mobilerates.php
Create an account with 18866. Register your mobile phone as the account number.
Then dial the 020 81 access number (which will come out of your inclusive mins).
18866 Will bill you seperately.
You could also look at Mobivox if you Sign up now and receive 10 Minutes of calling to over 40 destinations worldwide. Would 10 mins be enough? You have to pre-pay after the free mins so may not be worth yor while.0 -
