I don't think you have even read what I actually said. I'm not arguing against using them, only lampooning their manic competition on rates for destinations that either don't exist or have not yet been enabled in their dialplans.

Just tried to phone Ireland using Telesavers and Telestunt listed on the Callcheckeer at 0.5p/min as well as 05pence, 1pminute and Ratebuster listed at 1p/min. All of these carried a message referring me to another number costing between 13p and 15p/min.

I've emailed the callchecker error reporting address, but I would like to warn anyone else trying these numbers in the mean time.

I wondered if anyone had found a number around 1p/min to Ireland that worked.

Those prices are for calls to Irish landlines - are you sure you're not dialling an Irish cellphone number?

Just realised that the number I was trying to call was the Irish equivalent of an 0870 number which was reason charged at higher (mobile) rate. Thanks for the help.

ive just used the uk call checker for 0845/0870 calls and bt doesnt appear in the results below for '0845' weekend calls, or 0870 weekend calls.

im just updating my orchid rules for the new year.


can anyone please tell me the cost of 0845 and 0870 numbers with bt at weekends?

Because BT no longer offers a separate weekend rate for such calls (it's day and evening rates apply every day of the week), they don't appear in the Callchecker's results.

Been using their access number

from my mobile as it comes out of my inclusive mins and then I can call spain and france for free.

As my land line has the free 60 min calls any one know if it would work from that?

Even got spanish mobile call for 4p a min !!

Tried doing a google and found it in a thread
" DialNow give a
landline access number in Manchester, ( 01617002929 ), which can be
called out of your inclusive minutes. "

Can any one else confirm this before I give it to rest of my family to use from their BT and Cable phones to phone family in France and Spain.

Hi all,

I have been using Discount Dial for many of my international, mobile and 0870 calls, but they are missing from the callchecker - as appear to be a lot of the other service providers that used to show up. Is the callchecker working okay, has something happened to these providers? Are they not trusted?

As you may know, the CallCheckers are updated each night by an automated 'trawl' of the various web sites.

I've just checked for providers for 0870 and 0845 calls and very abbreviated (compared to normal) lists result.

I'll email CallChecker admin in case something's gone wrong.
